So what are our hopes, if any?
I have watched a couple of Bromley matches recently, and they are looking good. They are top for a reason.
We lost 2-0 to Swindon, and well deserved. They are second in the table, and on form, the top two teams deserve to be there.
However, due to the Notts County match being postponed, I watched my adopted side, Plymouth Argyle.
Basement battle game with Burton, which is not that far from the top 2 in Div 1.
Different quality game, if we are lucky to somehow find promotion we will need to change the whole team, we would certainly not survive with what we have at present. Transfer window now open, will anyone want to join us to help get back into the promotions?????? I doubt it

I didn't think that Swindon were much better than us personally. If we had taken our chances they were there for the beating. Whilst we have been generally poor we have not been totally outplayed in any match that I have seen. Strangely 21st placed Crawley played the best football I have seen at Priestfield this season with Barnet not far behind, but we drew both games.

We don't create enough chances or score enough goals the likelihood of signing players to rectify this in January is minimal so we will finish in mid table and start another rebuild in July. When we will need a host of new (better) players from Goalkeepers to Centre forwards, we need a reliable goal scorer to stand any chance none of ours will ever score more than 10 in a season.

For the rest of this season I would persevere with Andrews and Palmer-Houlden who have youth on their side and may get better. Vokes is a spent force (decent last 15 min sub if we are winning) and Nevitt is a modern day Gary Mulligan, work ethic is unbelievable but strikers are measured by goals and he isn't clinical enough.

We aint going up Lenny, not even via the play-offs, for all the reasons that's already been stated. I don't like manager merry-go-arounds either, so we've just got to get on with it and finish in the most respectable position possible.

As far as I'm concerned the gaffer gets until Christmas, so that gives him the rest of this season and the first half of next, then we judge again from there.

Hopefully the owners can use this window to bring in somebody that gives the fans hope for the future. Top of the table is looking fun with Bromley and Swindon with Walsall on their tails - although I'd like to see Notts County in that top three rather than the Swine.

Swindon were no better than us for most of the game. The difference was they managed to score 2 goals and we didn't. We won't be in play offs for that reason.
