Since January 2025, we have won four games at home, picking up a total of 19 points out of a potential 81 up for grabs.

Our home form is killing us. Even Wolves have won more points at home than us this season.

The difference this year is in the spread of points. Last year our away form was actually marginally worse than our home form. But only by 4 points.

This season there is a difference of 14 points between the two. No other team comes close to that.

What on earth is causing it?

Why is there such a difference between our PL home form and our European home form? Is it because of better refereeung in UEFA land, or is that just coincidental?

Just contrast tonight's game with the one against Villa last week.

Timid, flat and to much sideways passing at home with little urgency. Last week very different. They can't even blame the crowd getting on their backs as the support has been outstanding of late.

It is a really bizarre situation.

I think there is something to be said about opposition teams being really up for it when they visit.

It isn't just that I can't remember the last time we played really well at home, I also can't remember the last time an opponent turned up and played terribly.

I think there is a real element of seeking an "up yours" when teams visit us. They look around at our opulent stadium which reflects a team vastly more successful than we are, and probably bristle at the arrogance of the whole thing.

Because isn't that what has defined us since we moved there? Arrogance?

Its a bit like what started happening at Old Trafford once the fear of playing there had started to lift in the post Fergie era, teams went there wanting to not just to win but to take United down a peg. And I think there's the same element at work with us.

This would also explain the discrepancy between the PL and Europe. The latter wouldn't have that attitude because they don't share the same league as us, so there's a stronger chance they'll turn up and play badly.

I’m not even sure there’s an exact reason but I’d imagine that over time it’s become a mental block/ defect. A few losses at home is annoying but of little relevance but as time’s gone by, continuous bad results and performances likely takes it toll. We seem scared to play there.

Crazy how our final season at WHL we went unbeaten in the league to now forgetting what a win feels like in this soulless bowl.

I can’t stand the place as it is, what I’d give to see it demolished and WHL rebuilt brick by brick. Proper football ground, all these newer ones are just sporting or music arenas, not football stadiums.

I’m “lucky” though in that since moving to the south west I haven’t been able to get back for many games and 99% of my tickets I’m able to sell, I feel so sorry for the fans going every other week having to watch what they have been, especially the last 18 months but it’s stretching back even longer with regards to poor football. The extortionate prices is something I’ve slammed for years now and the fact people are paying as such for this absolute **** show can be heartbreaking, a lot of fans use football as an escape from reality yet all this this ****ing club are doing is adding further stress and disappointment as they fleece its consumer.

Most Euro opponents don't fare well against PL clubs.
The rest can match or better the latter to varying degrees.
