No sign whatsoever that his talents have taken a dip in the last 5 years. So what are you basing that on? If its the fact that we are letting him go, thats purely because a Younger keeper who is arguably as good (Though I would still put Cech a nose hair ahead) has come in and if we dont give Courtois No.1 spot he will do the off. And Cech could lose an arm and still be twice the keeper Ospina and Szczznznzy are
I agree with a lot of it, but if Cech lost an arm, I think it might be close, definitely not still twice as good.
Todays paper are linking you with Kasper Schmeichel. It would take a big bid to get us to sell as he still has 3 years left on his contract
Hugo Lloris from the Spuds anybody ? We'd have to get some thumb screws on that little Shyster Daniel Levy to prize him away, but you can't help thinking that Lloris is going to want out of the sinking ship that is the Spuds before long.
I don't know why people rate Hugo, I don't rate him at all, most times I manage to watch Spurs play I find him making a mistake and costing them a goal.
On a serious note though, I do think Szczesny is the more talented between Ospina and himself, but what I worry about is his mental application. He has calamitous moments due to poor judgment and timing where he doesn't seem to be focused on the game. He's proven his quality in the past - and you can't win the Golden Glove without having some degree of quality, but he needs to be challenged properly and Ospina hasn't been the right solution. I think he's a fairly solid goalkeeper but I expressed my concern with his lack of height when we originally signed him and that cost us the three points against Swansea in my opinion as if he was a couple of inches taller, he would have saved Gomis' header really comfortably. I was also quite disappointed with the shot he conceded against United as Herrera didn't hit with that much power and it was at the near post. In his defence, he is quite solid from commanding the area from corners and in-swinging free-kicks but we still have a question mark over that position and we shouldn't. I still don't think Cech will happen for obvious reasons, but IF it did, it would be an incredible signing and Szczesny could learn so much from a top class goalkeeper like him.
