City didn't play well v Wigan; Mancini said they were tired. Will they be up for the game on Sunday? Spurs shouldn't wait to find out. Spurs have had a rest- the players should come out fighting like it's a cup tie. City looked beatable last night. I wouldn't be too sure about the form of other teams in remaining games. Wigan are a good side and have all to play for, but have a small squad. Will tiredness catch up with them? All the teams in the bottom half still need points, so Sunderland, Southampton, Norwich, Stoke will be tough opponents, especially if they play with the commitment and physicality shown by West Ham last night. If Utd are champions by the time we play at Arsenal or Chelsea visit, we can afford to be relaxed and play with freedom. Does that help these clubs? I don't think so.
This weekend is big because Arsenal will most likely win and although Chelsea winning is unlikely you wouldn't want to not beat City and basically be praying Chelsea don't beat Liverpool in a game that could go either way given the unpredictability of both sides.
I've been saying all week we can beat them, because they can play like that at any time, and they will have the cup final on their mind
Cup final is weeks away. Players will be fighting for starting spots, moves and new contracts. Man City were ****e at home to Reading and needed a last minute goal to win, doesn't mean anything I'm afraid, they'll be up for the game on Sunday as they always are when they play top teams. Mancini's future depends on results like Old Trafford, Chelsea in the semi & Spurs away.
Fulham don't often lose back to back home games if memory serves me right and they have always given Arsenal a game in recent years so that could go either way, Chelsea always seem to get outplayed at Anfield since the 4 1 game apart from the "backpass" game which gifted them the Title so could be a decent weekend for Spurs if they can get something against City.
Spurs are probably the most charitable team to play in the PL.We love to award teams 3 points. One day we might find the solution.....perhaps starting this weekend?
Spurs have enough to see off Wigan; Southampton; and Stoke either home or away., therefor Spurs must win these games without distraction. The focus most surely be to win then by any means 'fair' or 'muffah-fck-ing foul'. If we get something out of the $ity game then all well and good, but its essentrially a distraction at this time IMO. We can hold The Chelks to a draw in the meantime, in what is for me the most crucial match of the running. Spurs can't not allow the Chelks to take more then a single point out of them down by the river on 8th May. If we can do this., then our fate will truely be our hands by the time we kick off against Sunderland. Otherwise its 'good night Vienna'.
http://www.footballformguide.net/form/barclays-premier-league Chelsea and Arsenal have found some home form. City's away form is up and down despite winning at OT.
The game at Anfield was a non event because we'd just played the cup final and weren't interested, we fielded the reserves as we had a CL final to prepare for and were hampered with injuries after both semi finals. Liverpool are at home so should win but it'll be a close game, we completely outplayed them in the reverse fixture and should have won. Sturridge and Suarez will cause our CB's plenty of problems, that's where I see the game being won and lost but Liverpool generally speaking have struggled against top sides this season. P.s Chelsea were by far the better team in the back pass game and 2-0 flattered Liverpool. Chelsea were gifted the title when United decided not to show up when they played us at Old Trafford but it was a victory for football anyhow as we were the much better side that season.
I actually meant when you won 4 1 in 05/06 think it was, and I don't get this "victory for football" as we play football aswell, Liverpool just rolled over in that game as their season just died down and didn't want us winning it. Defeat for football I guess
If ever there was a defeat for football it was Chelsea getting past Barca and beating Bayern in the CL last season
Anyway, as I was saying, our fate is now in our hands, and it's looking less of an impossibility that we can clinch that 4th spot, having beaten £ity, today, with a superb second-half display. Our hardest remaining fixture is our match against Chelsea, but if the Gooners lose against Unite, then we can afford to lose that game, and still finish in the top 4. The North London Power-Shift is still on the cards.
Guess its too late to hope that Citeh will now implode completely and surrender a 7 point advantage????
