I have to agree with the poster, some of the chanting is a bit OTT, conversely some of it is bloody hilarious! I only take my 7 yr old to home games in the family section & although the Club cannot erradicate foul & abusive language in the ground, they do their bit to protect the kids. What ticks me off is 'adults' who get tickets in the family sections 'f'ing & jeffing throughout the game, & the spineless stewards do nowt, now stand up for 2 minutes & they are all over you telling you to sit down!!
FECK the PC brigade......if you don't want to hear abusive chanting or swearing at football matches then bugger off to the opera
The thing I love about Leeds most is that we all wear our heart's On our sleeve so when we chant its what we're feeling cos it means so much to us an to me that's what makes us the best, take that away (as much as I don't always agree with what's sung) an we lose our identity imo
So what I take away from the above comments is that either: 1) As parents, husbands, boyfriends, we should not care what our children, spouses, girlfriends hear at football matches, or 2) as men, we should just ;leave them all at home, as this is not a place for women and children?
Or take the kids and encourage them to join in with the chants - Quite simple really - how it always used to be!!
If anyone is looking to be offended they will be. I wouldn't try to change the accepted behaviour at the opera and would take issue with anyone telling me that letting off steam at the footie is a bad thing. If you want to eat hot dogs and popcorn go watchch gridiron, ice hockey or god forbid baseball or basketball.
Surely all sports are the same. I attend GAA matches here where fans are not segregated. The language is equally foul and there are probably as many kids as parents at games. Not saying it's right but how the hell does anyone expect it to be policed
well there maybe a big chance of myself and my young lads using some industrial language at our away trip with those lovely (and non swearing) wendies....
Will do Glory, look forward to it, there's 9 of us to swear at bud............heard the tickets sold out in rapid time this morning...
Got mine ordered last week. I am sure creepy Crawley will have already sorted his as well. I guess for the first time this year memberships/ season cards will be checked.
Sorry to hear that Xbpod, I was sitting at my PC from 10 waiting to sign in and TBH I didn't think I'd get 9 tickets, luck of the Irish......
