I have to agree that negativity doesn't help. Fans booing during the match is not going to help. Players not putting a shift in isn't either. Players need to give themselves a boot up the arse and graft. Win or lose they won't get stick for trying.
I played Sunday league and trialled for a semi-pro team for a month ... ... I quickly realised I was further out of my depth than a dwarf in the deep end. But I was absolutely non-stop, launched into every tackle and was always booked before I was subbed off. I was always cheered off the pitch, grinning like a teenager at a Playboy shoot. Just come off the pitch covered in mud and sweating like a runaway pig ... ... that's all we ask ffs.
I'm in my 40’s and come off the field like that every time I play. It’s a bare minimum you should ask of yourself when you play, especially so at the highest levels. I won’t ever stand booing as it’s just not me, I rather try and encourage or say nowt. It’s testing though atm, it’s years of absolute mediocracy and a constant wondering if around half of your players even give a shyt. Record points seasons, multiple great escapes, consecutive relegations are about all we’ve had for years and throughout that time we get some of the biggest crowds in world football.... I understand that you know all this, but It’s staggering if you think about it...
I am sorry I coached from U/11 to U/18 and never seen this I coached in the collieries maybe why I did not see it
Nothing to do with the fans what a load of nonsense, the only people to blame are the fools running and I use that term lightly, the club, doomed with the haif wits in charge it’s a complete mystery how they ended up there in the first place very mysterious.
I think the point is we are not very good at the moment. Whatever the reason that is, be it owners, manager, players, and lets face facts, the current manager inherited these players. Whatever is wrong, do you or anyone who thinks booing players during a match will help matters ? Never mind this or that, The question is does it help matters ?
BEFORE THEIR SECOND GOAL? We were on top in the game and looked confident. Crowd backed the players. That's the point. When a large amount of fans boo during a game, it impacts the players. I don't see it having any place at the ground until the final whistle - completely counter-productive.
I watched Burton grow 6" and SAFC shrink the same amount when our fans turned - it was down to those who booed. As I said earlier - I don't blame them for the loss, but I blame them for the nervousness coarsing through the team for the last 20 minutes. Every misplaced pass was booed, to the point that Lynch didn't dare try a forward pass - he looked up and you could see he was scared of the fans reactions so he turned around and passed it to Burge. Booing during a game is tantamount to cheering the opposition in my book. has no point or purpose Not saying they didn;t dreserve to be booed at the end, that's a whole different argument (and I think they did deserve it - but I don't boothem personally) but during a game gives a team less than nothing
As I say I know it doesn't help but can understand the frustration has built up and people have had enough.
Unfortunately with the way things are panning out you’ll have plenty of seats to choose from. The players are grown men on a lot of money for what they do. A manager with some tactical ability for fast flowing attacking football, along with a captain that can properly motivate the players and toughen their skins, will help the situation. The fans will respect a team that has discipline and shows a fighting spirit ATM we are in a tail spin and the attendance reflects the height we are falling from.......there should be a big red sign lighting up in the boardroom saying ‘pull-up pull-up ‘
Cheers! Guess you’re one that boos during the game you read any other posts fir the context of my post? Guess not
