Yep. I really hope we get them. We need to send a message that we can compete and push Spurs out. It also keeps things fresh and will the focus on Suarez if he does indeed leave.

I'd love them both to come good but they seem just as bad as before, ok they've both been injured but i'm not excited about them

Aspas looks like he could be a good 3rd striker, Borini though i think is completely unsuited to our style of play and I don't think he will ever work in this team. Alan is showing that hes been out for quite a bit, but there was an improvement on the previous performance, he needs more game time.

Thought the defense looks OK, hard to tell against these teams. Mignolet looks very assured though actually starting to think he could be a better keeper than Riena.

Can never look too much into pre-season but would rather go 4 games conceding 0 than 4 games conceding 4...

who knows... hardly any set pieces conceded.... hardly any attacks.... we just have no idea. toure looked a bit better this morning but who knows... there was a 5 min period there our midfield couldn't get near them so i am more worried about the screen in form form the big games than the consistent leaking of goals from set piece....

Well we weren't great preseason last year and bloody awful the year before and this reflected in our starts to those seasons. I know you can't read too much but success breeds success whatever you do in life so hopefully they can take it into stoke game.

4 wins and none conceded. Can't do the team any harm can it? New signings have scored as has Stevie.

Our defending against set pieces is embarrassing - Thailand had a couple of corners and even they caused a bit of trouble.

Silly individual errors cost us a few points but hopefully we can cut those out.

However, I maintain that the problem are our tactics which leave our CB's and DM exposed and vulnerable against counter attacks.

Melbourne caused us more issues out in front of the near post.

In general play we do have that issue jimmy. If you push two full backs on and only hold at most one midfielder (or when allen was in for lucas no midfielder half the time) then you will have issues. Those are separate issues to set piece weaknesses.

The stoke game will be interesting for so many reasons... I privately have stoke down as the one side most likely to go down out of the current prem teams so if we don't beat them i can see a lot of other sides turnign them over as the season progresses.... mark hughes <laugh>

Exactly. Until we rectify this, I still foresee a problem with our defence regardless of which CB's we bring in.
