I thought it was clutching that we hoped a player who couldn't even get one game in a team who is notorious for giving yoof a chance, to be our creative/missing piece of the jigsaw. Looked poor in the games he played too. But again - we're not really in a position to get rid of players.
Updated following the influx of investment this week. Team v Bury: Rudd Solly Fox Johnson Pearce Ba Jackson Crofts Holmes Novak Ajose
Or Jackson Needs must Ba almost played centre forward alongside Ajose last Saturday - that's the great thing about him - he is consistent - consistently sh1te.
If yesterday's defeat taught Slade anything, then surely it was that Lookman has to start every week until he is sold. In fact, he has got to be the first name on the team sheet, particularly at home. Novak is a lumbering carthorse who won't score 10 goals this season and lacked the speed to connect with the only chance we made at Bury, other than that the tactic seemed to be long balls from the back humped in the vague direction of Ajose (who isn't tall...). You can forget that midfield 3 of Jackson-Crofts-Foley. I can't believe Slade will ever play them together again, even if it means throwing kids in. No good having a team full of "leaders" if they can't run or pass the ball forwards.
Very true mate if Tex or Bauer unavailable put Konsa in alongside Pearce get Lookman bench tthe old boys bring em on if protecting a lead with 15 to go and under the cosh . Play the team at Cheltenham that we intend to play next Saturday barring any decent players coming in.
We could do with a Lee Bowyer/ Jonjo Shelvey type midfielder- someone with a bit of bite & energy who can drive the ball forwards from midfield. That was totally absent yesterday. Foley was a 5 month contract, long term injured free agent for a reason Crofts looks a crock of sh1t and a squad player at best Jacko God bless him - why is he still bothering ? Time to hang your boots up when you get a chasing at Bury
Makes me laugh that the guy who the club deem worthy of only a 5 month contract, walks in to the team a day after signing.
