You can't deny he produced moments of brilliance when he was a regular in the Championship & League One?
I remember a quality goal he scored against Birmingham. The cross was slightly behind him and he swiveled and volleyed into the bottom corner.
I think Guly was really good in the second half of League One and even better in the first half of the Championship. Since then, he's had the odd good game but hasn't been as good as he can be - losing his place to Chaplow/Sharp would have limited his game time, and he only started a few league games last year. Nonetheless, he's a squad player now so he's not supposed to be amazing.
I like Guly, but along with some lovely skill, he hasn't half missed some really good chances in the Prem. Just a tiny bit more composure & he could have forced himself into more game time.
Well 8/11 aint bad! And I also said I'd give Maya the nod if he was fit and Targett was a bit jokey as I knew he'd never play in reality, so I'm claiming 10/11.
Be patient Mikey, I've been blowing the trumpet for Harrison Reed for a year or two now. Hope he gets on.
So all of those screaming for our strongest 11 have been proved wrong. Barnsley werent up to much but a 5-1 win away is brilliant againts any oppo.
What I found most cheering is that, although there was a large number of changes from our last starting eleven, the team looked very strong even on paper. Shows how strong we are in depth.
And just in case it hasn't been mentioned, both Guly and Jos were unwell for last night's match. The cough and cold variety of unwell, that is.
