So Clint has definitely left Carlisle to move on to pastures new. Heard he might be going to Fleetwood to team up with Joey but wouldn’t it be great to get him down to our place as a defence coach, if he was willing. We might need it nest season and I couldn’t think of a better fit.
He has actually now been offered a year contract extension at Carlisle so may not be joining Bash ‘em up Barton after all.
He tweeted a ‘thankyou and all the best for the future’ message on twitter (I don’t know how to put it up on here), so it would seem he is leaving Carlisle
Wouldn't it be lovely if he was doing this so he could come back to us as a coach...under someone ....and not Barton
What a legend Clint is. He epitomizes everything that I love about QPR and football. All the best Clint! Top man.
My favourite QPR player since Lee Cook. I don't care what anyone says, there was no better defender at QPR during his time. People talk about Richard Dunne, who was great. But no one was as consistent as Hill and no one put their body on the line like him.
I still don't agree. We were lucky at that time to have some great defenders. I've sat at QPR games so many times witnessing unbelievable heroics from Clint. Also, Clint was stuck out of position for so much of his time here and still gave such commitment.
Couldn't agree more - Clint, for me, epitomises what a fan wants from their teams players - full blooded commitment to the cause, giving their all for the team. He may have been slowing down towards the end of his time with us, but his reading of the game was superb - and selfless the way he substituted himself in the play-offs when Kneecap would've probably left him on. A truly deserving member of the Forever Rs club, when he gets inducted. Wish him all the best whatever he does, but would love to see him in our dugout beside McLaren.
I wish him all the best in his retirement. Needs to earn his stripes before joining the coaching team here; but like Gareth Ainsworth would love to see them both successful in their management and coaching careers here at the club.
Great post about a top player. Couldnt have put it better, hope Clint comes back to the R's sometime in the (near) future... . Would be a cracking defensive coach
