Just spoken to Mel, and he has read this thread as well as i sent him the link. He was saying he got almost the same mixed response from those posting on LFW. He's a big boy now and does hold anything against anyone nd was glad you guys read it and had commented on it.... Just thought I'd let you know. He was also telling me a few stories about who Cerny really is....!!! sworn to secrecy though !!
Think JB must read this or I summed up the situation spot on. Below is an extract from the FA panel at the hearing - In cross examination he maintained that he was barged but was not sure by whom. He was conscious that the club were âfighting for their livesâ to remain in the Premier League and it was an important match for Manchester City as they could win the title that day. He confirmed that he was very angry and that he had lost his temper with the situation and he felt there had been an injustice in that Tezez had struck him first. Again the Commission accepted this to be an fair assessment of his state of mind at the time.
Tevez clipped his leg. Barton's a muppet. Lets stop all this "mitigating circumstances" nonsense. Hes a disgrace and I'm delighted he won't ever play for us again (hopefully).
Swords, the more you post like this the more you reinforce my argument!! I agree largely with what you say however everybody should be treated fairly and not because of their name. The clip to the leg was not the issue it was the left hook to bartons face that was bad and referee mike dean agrees would have been a straight red had he seen it. I'm starting to think you were on the FA panel!
Twitter appeals Barton ban PEOPLE wanting to use Twitter without their heads exploding have appealed Joey Bartonâs 12-match ban. The Nietzschean ball-worrier has been banned from staging an ultimate fighting bout on the pitch for twelve matches, and is expected to spend most of this time at his computer cutting and pasting bits of philosophy he doesnât fully comprehend. Twitterologist Wayne Hayes: said âEven people who donât follow Barton will be vaguely aware in the periphery of the screen that somehow, somewhere, somebody will be getting called a helmet for no apparent reason. âHe hasnât actually posted anything since the ban was imposed but, to coin a phrase, itâs when he goes quiet that you really need to worry.â Twitter usersâ lawyers will appeal the ban on the basis that Barton had been playing a lot of Streetfighter before the match and was simply trying to pull off an eight-move combo on the pitch. Sightings of Barton spending a long time in the philosophy section of Waterstones have fueled fears of a pseudo-intellectual online hissy fit of massive proportions. Wayne Hayes, a taxi driver from Carlisle said: âMy kids use Twitter as well and the last thing I want them seeing on the internet is a series of misinterpreted Camus quotes and vaguely gnomic babbling about being persecuted. âWe need to confiscate his laptop and get him back on the pitch doing what he does best, punting other morons in the conkerbagâ
I disagree with the assumption the player's history and reputation should be discarded. On the contrary, repeat offenders should be punished more severely than first time offenders. That's what happens in legal courts and the FA should be no different. C'mon '74, a left hook?
