Fair? You're havin' a laugh aren't ya? How many chances has this clown had? If it was me I'd ban him for life.

He's on 60 grand a week and runs around acting like a scumbag and you're asking for FAIR?!! Get back on your exercise bike '74.

Great story but I offer this

There are a lot of great players we can replace Joey Barton with and if we do
All of you will forget him quickly as whoever replaces him wont have to beat too much

Pumping furiously!! (on my exercise bike!)

There was a stadium full singing 'there's only one Joey Barton' a few weeks ago!!
Can someone please tell me where we get his wages from and show me it varies from from 60 to to 100,000 depending on hate level.
I'm in agreement he shouldn't have done what he did but his past doesn't mean that he is the only one dealt with.
Had he not been injustly sent off against Norwich has ban would be less as no previous sending off.
Fair to all - Tevez should be dealt with retrospectively and should have been sent off in the first place, and Balotelli should be serving a long ban
Or as they said on Have I got News For You - Thats the beauty of the British justice system, Innocent until......you've finished playing for your country in the Euros'.

And DT - You're absolutely right I have no knowledge of QPR, my 32 years of regular attendance, the majority as a Season Ticket holder count for nothing. There's only one Mark Dennis!

What's your problem with Norway? Don't shoot the messenger mate - we'll end up with no news. We rely on him and one or two others, to download stuff they find on the net - whether they agree with the topic or not.

What we usually do is thank the OP (in this case Norway) for an article found and posted - and then offer our views on the material.

Cheers Norway! Mel Huckridge clearly doesn't know what constructive dismissal means!

It's an entertainingly written article, but is based on a attitude I can have only contempt for - if you get cheated, cheat back, or even better cheat first/ anything that happens when wearing the shirt is forgivable. He'd be better off traveling back in time and supporting Leeds under Revie instead.

Norway defended good ole Joey right after the match at City. Wrong

He continues to make excuses for him. Correct (I'm afraid)

I'm disappointed in him. As you're entitled to

Personally I still value your input Swords, at times one of the funniest around. Not sure how I disgrace my country though

I'm sure Fred West was a half decent builder but that doesn't excuse what he did! Since when do we have to overlook a player's past? This sort of thing sickens me, football club owners, managers and fans disregard the behaviour of these pompous pricks all in the name of football. There are thieves, thugs, drunk drivers, adulterers, rapists and murderers all earning a crust kicking a ball around and because what they did wasn't on the pitch somehow we have to ignore it.

I've already posted that I think Barton will stay but I don't like it, not one bit of it, and Tony F would go way up in my estimation if he kicks him out.

Some intresting views there. Mel is one of my very close friends back home and we speak regularly still. I was at his wedding, christening and is one of the 1st people i meet up with when home. Also a good friend of Clive fro LFW..

firstly, "constuctive dismissal". let me assume you that Mel has a very good first hand knowledge of this as it was in fact this that enabled him to get the time off to writ e his first book. He's currently doing the second now!

Next, Apart from being on this site, I have never met a more intelligent person in the footballing world than him. He genuinely follows and attends the game around the world with teams from Germany, France Eastern Europe and The America's with a passion.
If i ever have a football related question he is the 1st person i ask.

Now, enough of singing his praises...He's also a bloke who likes a few beers and has had many "colourful" episode in his lifetime, from scoring a winning goal on Wembley too.....well maybe we wont go there!

For the record, i dont agree with his stance on JB but accept a lot of what he says as his opinion.

I will be speking to him tonight on Facebook and will point him in the direction of this site and the relevant post

    Cheers guys....

My apologies then. Not because the author's your mate QLDR but because the penalties for this against an employer found guilty of CD can be as much as three years wages - to the average Joe. For this reason, it's rare for well informed employers to use CD as a deliberate exit strategy for an unwanted employee. Far too expensive.

CD usually arises where a poorly informed employer knowingly or unknowingly alienates the employee in some way to such extent that the employee packs the job in, seeks advice and makes a claim.

However, your assurance that Mel knows exactly what he's talking about (though didn't elaborate) made me think again. Whilst the government / courts impose legal maximum penalties for such things, maybe these are not proportionately adjusted in highly paid football contracts - thus making a CD strategy a pretty cheap option...??

I haven't heard of this approach before which suggests they are proportionately adjusted. If so we'd be talking between £8-12.5m! Certainly be no savings in that to furnish a less volatile player.

    Brix. no worries mate.
Like i say he's a close friend but I certainly wouldn't expect everyone to agree with him.
He can be very controversial but definately knows his stuff....Certainly when it involves football or CD!!
I did send him the link to this post last night so i'll await a response from him tionight when i get home.
I can (almost) gaurantee that he has read this post. If he comments on it I'll let you know his thoughts..good and bad !!
Good to hear others opinions about people you know. Makes me think I was right all along !!
