Swansea or Bristol City?

I say Swansea though I know a large part of the fan base mostly older will say the carrot crunchers.

Thoughts on here.?

Neither for me this season. For varying reasons they are both poor. Apart from the obvious in West Brom and Fulham, I see QPR doing well from the chasing pack.

Either or neither depending on how much of a threat they are to us. Their geographical position is insignificant. There's us and 23 other clubs in the Championship. Why do we invest so much energy in focussing on these two?

I dont its 3 for me. I dislike Liverpool more. But I cant consider them a rival.<laugh>

"Welsh derby" or "Severnside derby" - the hype is driven these "gogglebox" days by the media for obvious commercial reasons. The cold reality is the games are worth the exact same points as against anyone else we'll play this season - but that's not the whole story.

The satisfaction in getting 3 points off either or both of those two clubs seem worth a lot more than off other sides. "Top team in Wales" the Swans and Bluebird fans shout - sheep shaggers and wurzel bashers are the taunts from either side of the Severn.

Both fixtures carry that extra bit of spice, and although I wouldn't give an point to those down west, for some reason it's the Wurzels across the water that are the biggest prize. Don't ask me why - it's personal and just the way I've gone this past 50 years of supporting City.

It was only in the 80’s that swansea became a ‘rival.’ That was due to the fact rarely City were in the same league as them. They didn’t meet in the football league between 1965 and 1980.
I recall in the 70’s City fans coming out of Ninian Park asking blokes with a radio how swansea & Newport had got on wanting them to win as they were not any threat to City being in the basement league.
Actually in the late 70’s the main Welsh rivals were Wrexham.
Bristol City up until they got into Division One were the main rivals as were Bristol Rovers whom were also in Division Two.
