Maybe in normal circumstances conversations like that should be kept behind closed doors. However, if Dick kept quiet we'd all be wondering what was going on. There's been precious little information from Ellis Short, who's kept a very low profile in all of this. What are his real intentions? Does he want to sell? Did he inherit a **** load of debt;or have massive debts been accrued by successive mangers? No-one knows and therein lies the problem. At the moment we have 40,000+ fans turing up every home game to be served up a heap of pap. I think those people deserve is a little information; it's the very least the club could do for them. Well, it doesn't appear that the information's going to come from the official side: Short, Maggie et al. Therefore, I applaud Dick for giving us these titbits, which provide the fans with some enlightenment.
"Time for Ellis to go?" Is that because people are queueing up to buy Sunderland and spend £80m of their money to improve us? Who exactly is going to buy the club if Ellis goes? It does my head in the people saying they want rid of short. It isn't going to happen. It's not like he can be sacked! He owns the place. There is no one around the corner to buy the club so completely pointless asking for him to go. Ken Wright has been trying to sell a much more attractive club than us for years and still hasn't managed! What if we get a Vincent Tan type owner? Careful what you wish for
Mmmm not sure about this. Ellis might want out, that would not surprise me. This could all be stratergy to get players cheaper, if agents think we have money to spend prices go up. I reserve judgement until sept 1st but lets face it, its not looking good.
