That's 3 City fans on the blog now Rebel! You, me and Skinman. I wonder if Ciarrai is a closet Cork City fan, huh?
Very true about Juventus being heavily supported in the South. Same goes to a lesser degree with Milan since the days of the Dutch trio. Much has to do with the many years of a lack of teams from the South in Serie A. Apart from Napoli and Cagliari the rest were in a bad way for many years until Avellino, Bari and then Foggia made it to the top. Catania went through a lot of grief and Palermo was in B for what seemed like decades. From a political perspective possibly the end of La Cassa del Mezzogiorno, the disastrous Berlusconi presidencies and the assassinations of judges Falcone and Borsellino may have indirectly helped Sicily gain a certain rebirth of optimism and self identity. The old guard of Christian Democrats are now dead or gone and their "associates" no longer hold sway as they did just 20 years ago. The Palermo and Sicily I knew in the early seventies was at times scary but today is much like anywhere else. That said was in Salemi in October and something is very wrong there, probably that c*nt Sgarbi.
Only teams in red I support - Canada's national team (whoo-hoo! #77 in the world) and Toronto FC - their next match is in wintery Toronto against Becks et al from Los Angeles Galaxy
