Hard to take sides in that one. An extra local game would be good for PAFC but it is Exeter after all.....

It was a Mellor header that won the tie in the end.....it was going in and the defender standing on the line only helped it on it's way.....unlucky to be called an own goal to be honest.
Just seen the headlines......Celtic boss Rodgers targets 'remarkable' unbeaten run.......but Mr Rodgers you must of noticed that there ain't no opposition in Scotland.....Aberdeen in second spot where light years behind.....and poor Rangers got dropped by Aberdeen quite easily in the end.
How well did Celtic do in Europe......oh... so they did lose then this season I thought so.

When you consider we don't have Hartlepool or Carlisle next season the extra 174 to Bradford seems a bargain doesn't it. I haven't had a look at the league yet but in my head I'm thinking there is less travelling next season anyway. If Exeter go up as well that's even better. Once it's all settled and we know who is where then I might have a glance through it and see where it leaves us. Lets face it though the green army have been used to the road for years so whoever we face isn't going to be a problem.
Using a UK planner and UK mileage calculator....Argyle will cover round trips of 12170 miles next season...if Blackpool get promoted next Sunday.
If Exeter win next Sunday....Argyle's mileage will be reduced to only 11614 miles.
This is not ground to ground...but Town or City etc destinations.
I'm disappointed that Millwall will be off my "local" away days.....I haven't been to the New Den as yet....although the train to Waterloo passes close to it....it looks a dour looking concrete stadium with no character.......their fans raided the Wembley pitch yesterday.....most stayed in the Millwall half.....but some nutters had to go and taunt the Bradford supporters of course.....still got some idiots.....but certainly not as bad as the 1960/70's.

Referring to the mileage chart above there is only one "local" derby.....possibly Exeter (if they win next Sunday) which City to City is a 90 mile round trip, many clubs would be gobsmacked that 90 miles is seen as "local".
If Blackpool win then.... Bristol R which is a 244 mile round trip is our nearest opponents....not many clubs would call that a local "Derby"....maybe more a "West Country" derby.
After that there is only two other clubs that come under a 400 mile round trip.....
.....Portsmouth 344 miles and Oxford 388 miles.....

Both are far nearer me than Plymouth....Portsmouth...178 miles round trip and Oxford...128 miles.

What the above demonstrates is the fact that Devon is out on a limb in football terms and it is for that very reason that we, that is all of Devon and even Cornwall should be hoping for Exeter and any other local side to be doing as well as they possibly can. All of this supposed rivalry with Exeter is bull. They are NOT our biggest rivals they are simply occasionally our nearest. Over the years there have been plenty of other sides that have attracted more passion when we play them than Exeter. I have no problem with cheering them on and hope they win the play off final. I also hope that Bodmin get into the football league along with Torquay getting back into it. I will be going to son's next Sunday to watch Exeter at Wembley and will be cheeering them. We were discussing today that if it didn't cost so much we would even give Wembley a go if we could.
I will also be hoping they win as well Sensible, a nice easy trip up the road, a full house and hope fully another 6 points. 
Well i am cheering the chiefs on saturday as i will be off to Twickenham again, what a great game last saturday.. I follow the rugby as well as the football .. oh and its a better day out for your money. Just wish football could take a note.. It would be more enjoyable. I prefer football over rugby.. Diving Joe....... not in Plymouth......Tom Daly might still be on "honeymoon" and lives up the Olympic Park these days....but our players are only yards away from an Olympic standard diving pool...... if they need some tuition.
Well i never meant our team, but i suppose we have done it? I think al ot teams train that in their training programme.

Sunderland looking for a new manager.....hope they're looking for an established/experienced manager that has managed at Championship level......and not go looking further afield for an up and coming manager who has done well in Scotland in the past.....not far from home for Derek......

A technical point Joe but diving is a definate part of Rugby. They score a lot of their tries that way........

It is always a mistery to me how two 18 stone players can collide at 30 MPH and then get up and just carry on yet two footballers who are a lot lighter brush each other slightly and they are pollaxed into intensive care.
I was watching the local news tonight and heard that Exeter football and rugby were making appearances in or around the Capital this weekend and Cornwall County Rugby were in some cup final on Sunday as well. It's a weekend for the WestCountry to be empty. Must break out my burglary outfit for the weekend as there should be nobody else here. I'm going to do the unthinkable in many's eyes and am going to cheer Exeter on twice and Cornwall on once this weekend.

Enda Stevens left back for Portsmouth has signed a 3yr deal with Sheffield U.
Stevens along with Graham Carey is leading the Sky Sports Div2 player of the season voting.
If Portsmouth with their bigger financial clout cannot hang on to Enda Stevens.....what chance has Plymouth got to hang on to Graham Carey ?......the only chance is his link up with Derek Adams and the freedom it gives him on the field....a bigger club might tie him down more. Carey is at the age now when a bigger financial package would give him more security for him and his family......5-6 years from now his playing career will be ending....assuming he stays clear of career ending injuries. I don't see what's so difficult to understand with Carey. He is 29 and this will be his last chance to cash in. WE cannot compete with loads of other clubs in the money stakes and more to the point won't try. He is flavour of the month currently and therefore he WILL go. If you could double or treble your wages you would go as well. We all would. Forget him he ain't starting for us next term.

I was listening to the radio a couple of weeks ago and there was a bloke on there who does the old financial advice thing. He was going on about a tax advantage which he said loads and loads of people who were elegible didn't apply which made the old ears prick up. He was talking about the Marriage Allowance where apparently you could transfer some of your other half's tax allowance to the tax payer if the one transferring it didn't pay tax. Not only could you apply for this but you could also apply to backdate it a couple of years if you hadn't applied before. Now I thought I wasn't entitled to anything as I never had been and so pretty much stopped taking notice of changes to rules. He said it was simple and there was an online form you could fill out, post it and sit back and wait for the Tax people to do their thing.
I had a look at it and it was indeed simple to do and it did look like I would be able, or rather the missus would be able to give me some of her allowance. I duly filled out the form and off it went with me thinking that will be a while before I hear anything then. Within a few hours I had one of thos emails that acknowledges receipt of the form and saying they would look at the application. Now I don't know what dealings you have had with said Tax Office but my limited dealings have always taken an age with some snag involved somewhere along the line to make it even longer. I was sat listening to the radio this morning with all that Manchester bombing stuff being talked about and the post arrived. Bugger me if it didn't include a cheque from HM Revenue and Customs for over £400. The email confirming receipt was dated 15th May so that was the date of my application. Wow!!!!! am I impressed with them or what.
