No not just you: they’ve done an update on the site and I’m having trouble opening it on my phone.

I’ve been getting stuck with it asking me to switch off an add-blocker.

Back in now though….. initially being presented by very unpleasant pics of someone’s rotten toe nails. Good job it’s not a mealtime.

My usual websites will still not let me in to 606....asking me to prove I'm not a bot (Robot)......I follow through what they ask me to do....but it makes no difference.....left me with a printer problem....printer does everything I ask it to do.....but the paper comes out unprinted....I've checked all the obvious faults but to no avail.

Still use Google for all my other sites with no bother......but 606 will only answer to Opera at the moment.

PS.....Those rotten toe nails have been around on my phone for quite awhile.....no problem with my phone....it's the desk top that is the problem.....which I prefer to us.

I thought we’d seen the last of Alison Hernandez but no, there she is on TV announcing night bus routes for next summer.

As the survivor of quite a new nights out in Newquay as a youth, I can understand a service there running from closing time through the small hours. Newton Abbot though? Hardly known for its hedonism is it?

A morally upright person strictly adheres to high moral principles, acting with honesty, integrity, and righteousness in all aspects of life.

They are deemed trustworthy and principled, often choosing to do the right thing even when it is difficult, inconvenient, or when no one is watching.

Merriam-Webster 13/05/2026.

Wes Streeting cannot conform to those standards......he is engaged to Joe Dancey.....if Streeting became PM would that mean two gay men would be in residence at No 10.......what part of "morally high" am I getting wrong.
who cares about theor private lives and what Streeting is or not. If it was 2 women would people still say the same.
Thats Life Plym..

A new £30million High Street organised crime unit has been announced by the government after the BBC's year-long investigative reporting into illegal mini-marts...vape shops and barbers.

Over 12 months BBC News exposed drug gangs...child sexual exploitation reports...money laundering...immigration crime and ghost directors linked to shop fronts selling illegal cigarettes and illegal vapes.

The Chartered trading Standards Institute (CTSI) suggested cuts to its members recources under previous governments had helped allow serious and organised crime to gain a foothold in High Streets.

BBC News...19/05/2026.

What the hell are Police Forces doing in this time.....What the BBC have uncovered should have been the Police forces routine patrols up and down our High Streets....Oh hold on a minute...we don't get police routinely showing their faces in public anymore.....just a fleeting view of them in a Police car now and again.(not even that often)

Just walking up and down my own High Street can be alarming.....the traditional UK shops are disappearing alarmingly fast.....and before you know it another super-mart or vape shop...and as mentioned another barber shop opens up.....these shops generally employ eastern europeans or asian young men....and you can guarantee some of these will be illegal migrants......you do wonder how these shops make a living let alone a profit.....well maybe because of the BBC doing the police's work for them we are discovering why....under the counter or secret hideaways in the shops are supplying in front of your eyes all this illegal gear and are just becoming a front for criminal activity.

Over the years it isn't just Banks etc disappearing but Police Stations.........in the 1980's a state of the art Police Station was built in Orpington....it had a front desk which meant you could actually speak to a Policeman....this started to change...civilians on the desk....then the desk was closed and by 2010/15 the multi-story police building just shut.....and the nearest one is in Bromley South.....and you certainly don't encounter a policeman if you go in there.....which unfortunately we had to once (stolen handbag)....and the end result a crime number and the cost of replacing all the expensive items.....glasses/plastic cards/driving licence/freedom pass/etc etc.

Now we find that crime is often involving a policeman being the criminal.....things have got to change before the UK becomes totally broken.

HS2 could now cost up to £102.7bn...the transport secretary has announced.

Trains will not start running until between 2036 and 2039.

TO SAVE MONEY...the trains top speed originally planned to be 360km/h (224mph)....will be reduced 320km/h (199mph).

BBC News 19/05/2026.

By the year 2036/2039.....10/13 yrs time.....£102.7bn now.... the cost will be astronomical.

What a disaster....already slowed down to save money....will it be worth finishing.

In 2012 the original estimated cost was between £32 Billion and £37.5 Billion....linking London/Birmingham/Manchest/Leeds....now it is smaller and slower......when you compare it with Japanese railways...it is just incredibly embarrassing.

Cancelling it now would be just as expensive.

What sort of nonsense is this?

Fuel and energy costs from the field to the supermarket shelf are up and there are indirect effects in things like fertilizers and other chemicals.

Meanwhile, the Government continues to load more and more tax onto businesses (and individuals) which has to be paid for. Most of this is being spent on welfare but now supermarkets, which operate in razor-thin margins, are supposed to sell good at a loss.

Of course, as fuel, energy and VAT-able good rise in price, the Government rakes more in from VAT and fuel and other duties. Where's all that going?

What is going on.....this is the first time this site has been available today (for me ?)

Yesterday (Tuesday) I had no issues with this site at all......there is strange things happening this week.....still can't get the printer to actually print on paper.

I'm still having trouble if I try to log-on from my phone. That seems to be because they are trying to send me adverts which are not permitted in my phone settings.

Iran has said it is significantly expanding the area around the Strait of Hormuz over which it claims military control in an effort to assert its sovereignty of the key trade route.

BBC News.....21/05/2026.

Well Donald what part of you smashing Iran's army...navy...air force......isn't quite true.....your now getting a little fed up of this great victory that you haven't achieved...........you just want to move on to your next war.......Cuba.

Donald "Blabbermouth" Trump...... your vast military might has not fathomed out how to defeat "destroyed Iran"...(your words) and open the Strait of Hormuz............I wonder what you'll achieve with Cuba.....China have already sounded a warning over your bullying tactics.

Same old, same old……

Reform says it won't investigate by-election candidate over social media allegations https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cy025epkl79o

And how blatant can buying votes be? With Goverment borrowing mushrooming, taxes bearing ever more heavily as theesholds aren’t increased with inflation, and many in areas needing investment, including crucially, defence.

It’s abandoning the very poorest who can’t afford even the reduced prices. if they could get to the attractions in the first place. Can you imagine the conversation? “My friend at school is going to the FunFactory at the weekend. It’s cheap now! Can we go?”. “No sweetie, we still can’t afford it”. This is me speaking, but how heartbreaking is that?

Is this really the best use of taxpayers’ cash? I think not.

Maybe the migration figures are being balanced....because of the skilled people pouring out of the country to more favourable situations.....those that stay are unskilled with no options elsewhere.

Sitting in the Pharmacy lunchtime waiting for our Covid booster.....Mrs Plym browsing the leaflets on the wall next to her.....various leaflets about various ailments took her fancy.....so she selected a few and brought them home.

Having read them all it became obvious that there was no solutions mention for any of the ailments she read about.

If you wanted advice and solutions you had to click on the QR & Barcode or go to the website.....which for many old people would be a step into the unknown.....not even a simple leaflet tells you anything this day and age.......are we going forwards or backwards.

Maybe the migration figures are being balanced....because of the skilled people pouring out of the country to more favourable situations.....those that stay are unskilled with no options elsewhere.

No its's not that. Don't believe the **** Reform tell you on any subject.

The drop in net migration tracks a fall in arrivals: ergo departures must be pretty much flat.

Also, small boat crossings are dropping: 2026 arrivals to date are lower than the equivalent period in 2025.

I watched the film “The King” on Netflix last night. It purports to be the story of King Henry V’s (Hal) ascent to the throne and his victory over the French at Agincourt.

I did Shakespeare’s Henry IV two-parter in my English Lit O Level so I have a particular interest in it, although it isn’t on the same level as say Hamlet in Shakespearean quality. You had to read Henry V too so as to understand how it turned out.

There are some differences.

Shakespeare’s Falstaff is a drunken coward who is in danger of alienating Hal from his father Henry IV and corrupting him away from his path to the throne. In the film, he’s a grizzled old warrior who helps Henry V to victory, including coming up with the successful battle tactics and dying bravely in carrying them out.

More importantly though, in Shakespeare’s Henry V, shortly after the battle, Henry V has set himself up in Charles VI’s palace. Early one morning just as the Sun is in rising he fancies a walk in the garden, where, as you do, he sees a young maiden. He approaches her and says “do you fancy getting married, like?”. Luckily she says “oh alright then” and even more luckily she turns out to be the King of France’s daughter rather than a maid out gathering flowers.

It’s the most stupid and unconvincing end to any of Shakespeare’s plays, it’s a story line you wouldn’t get away with in a TV soap. I’ve always found it incomprehensible how Shakespeare came up with such a crap ending. I can only imagine he’d run out of quill pens.

At least in this it’s made clear it’s a political marriage of convenience………

Good film though.. if very much on the gory side.

My most recent "TV" enjoyment has been the BBC One series....."The other Bennet sister".

I thought that Ella Bruccoleri played the "middle" Bennet sister to perfection....and the Welsh actress Ruth Jones better known for "Gavin and Stacey" fame played her mother Mrs Bennet brilliantly......an enjoyable period drama.

So not really into Shakespeare.....sorry notDistant.
