Trump has now spoken on the assassination of right-wing activist Charlie Kirk, including a condemnation of increasing political violence. He mentioned several recent attacks on Republicans but failed to mention the attacks on two Democrat state politicians. Is that statesman-like or just plain inflammatory? Neither did he mention Utah is an “open carry” state where citizens can carry a loaded firearm anywhere, anytime or what the need is for private citizens to own assault rifles which it’s likely was used in this case. Nor did he mention the recent reversal of the ban on “bump stock” modification that turns a civilian single-shot assault rifle into a military spec machine gun.
