Do you release your ticket when you know your not going....don't you get a %age of its value back ? With a full stadium it gives others a chance of going.
Sorry to hear you are not quite match fit but at least you are back in training then. On the grass as the pros say, or on the beer colloquially.
This is what you need Sensible. And I’m not taking the mickey as I’m not far behind you. Bad back, dodgy tight hip and dodgy right knee. Soon, I’ll only be able to move in small clockwise circles! https://apple.news/ArqqcRDq0SB2h8dVWRETtCQ Only in the good ol’ U S of A…..
It's better with two dodgy knees.....you end up crawling along in reasonably a straight line. My favourite footwear is a pair of sandals....which have a magnetic clasp.....so you can slip your foot in them and then flick it over towards the other part of the clasp...and as long as it isn't to far away it will be drawn by the magnets strength and snap into position.....undoing isn't quite as easy.
I have just received my 2024/25 Notice of Coding from the Inland Revenue. The tax-free amount remains unchanged for yet another year at £12,570 despite the very rapid inflation we've been suffering. My State Pension is £10,675, so I am left with a princely £1,895 to set off against my private pensions. This applies equally to all other pensioners and to all those in work. This is state sponsored larceny by a so-called Conservative government.
I have stolen the married persons allowance from the wife as she is a non taxpayer. Worth doing and didn't even know you could until I saw something on a Martin Lewis programme. Also, because my wife is registered blind I found out in a booklet that she was entitled to an extra couple of grand tax free and that if she didn't pay tax and had a spouse they could claim it instead. So I did. I would never have known that if I hadn't read it in the booklet. So, my free pay is a lot higher than it would have been without her bit. The married persons bit is £1200 in round figures and the blind bit is £2800. There was a time I would not have claimed anything but having seen what others get I decided I would this time having never claimed anything previously from anywhere.
You are only claiming something that was defined precisely for your circumstances, which beyond doubt, deserve a bit of help. There’s nothing wrong with that and everyone should do it and I don’t object to paying for it through taxation. Other stuff though I’m far less keen on, particularly subsidising those than could work but won’t.
Look out for a Labour government next year. Two terrible by-election results for the Conservative Party last night. Worryingly, the results wouldn’t have been as bad without the Rabid Right Racist Reform Party. That allied to the loonie right wingers in the Conservative Party itself, these are dangerous times. Thank goodness the Labour Party has relatively moderate leadership at present but with militant trade unions and pro-Palestinian anti-Semitic forces on the march, who knows what may be just around the corner. Racists to the right of us, racists to the left….
Putin will be disappointed that there is no opposition from Siberia for the coming election. It must be suspicious when a man still in his forties dies after a walk.
It's quite amusing in some ways to think nobody actually comes out directly and say "Putin done the deed". You know he did, I know he did and just about everyone except our Government seems to know he did. Even Biden said "Valerie Pudding done it". You have to admire the way though that Putin just carries on as if nothing has even happened at all without a hint of a problem. I know nobody in Russia is going to accuse him directly but even so, he looks like he has just had tea with his Mum and is off to Sunday School.
I looked it up. Do you know how many oligarchs critical of Putin died of falls from January 2022 to date? All fell from windows unless otherwise stated. Andrei Krukovsky (fell off cliff) Dan Rapoport Ivan Pechorin (fell off boat and drowned)" Ravil Maganov Anatoly Gerashchenko (fell down stairs) Grigory Kochenov Dmitriy Zelenov (fell over railings) Pavel Antov Marina Yankina Artyom Bartenev Kristina Baikova Vladimir Egorov My favourite is probably Alexander Subbotin, a director of Lulkil, the second largest petrochemical company in Russia, who reportedly "died from a drug-induced heart attack during a shamanic ritual, though critics allege toad poison", He was allegedly trying to treat a hangover with the toad poison. We've all done it, haven't we?
Foreign dentists are to be allowed to work in the UK without taking an exam to check their qualifications....under Government plans to solve the dental crises. Ministers plan to scrap the Overseas Exam currently required to allow dentists from other countries outside of Europe to come and work in Britain. The plans would mean dentists trained abroad would be able to start work in the NHS without a formal check on the quality of their education and have raised fears it will lead to substandard care. Daily Telegraph 17/02/2024. Does that mean I'll no longer need to find my old pair of pliers... plus that bit of string and the nearest door handle to do my own dental work.....you'll be able to go to your nearest NHS dentist and get an identical service. PS.....makes you wonder if there will be an even bigger exodus of NHS dental patients....desperately looking for a private dental practice who would guarantee that they would not revert to stone age methods.
You do wonder if some of these victims (sorry casualties) might have been suffering from an inner ear infection that affected their balance. But might need to take into account how dodgy a walk in a very cold environment might be on your health as well.
Don't forget these are only the ones that died from falls. Here's the full list: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suspicious_deaths_of_Russian_businesspeople_(2022–2024) You will notice that on a couple of occasions, two related individuals died in suspicious circumstances at the same time. For example Pavel Antov, whose citation is: "Fell out of window from Hotel Sai International;[44] another Russian colleague, Vladimir Bidenov, died in the same hotel two days prior." Vladimir Bidenov apparently died of heart problems. And then there are two mysterious air crashes: a helicopter and the business jet in which Yevgeny Prigozhin died. One poor chap had a sudden attack of lukemia, dying within 2 days of diagnosis,
We'll never know the full extent of how Stalins millions died during the period between the two world wars....before the internet came along with its all prying eyes. Even Putins "mates/buddies" have to speak to him from the other end of a 100ft marbled table....binoculars supplied of course.
Ah but these are just the big names. Who knows how many ordinary human beings have gone the same way. There was no internet and social media in Stalin’s day and so it was far easier to control the news and the populace. To so it now though……
