He's clearly falling into that pit of isolation and paranoia where all dictators perish in the end. He's reportedly sacked & detained a number of security officers for presumably not telling him what he didn't want to hear: that the Ukranians would fight and his initial tactics (sending in lightly armed elite troops to secure key objectives) wouldn't work against stiff resistance.

Unfortunately though, he can still do a lot of damage before his demise. Look at what he did in Syria and Chechnya.

The Russian armed forces haven't covered themselves in glory in the Ukrainian war: you can't help wondering what NATO air forces would have made of that 40km traffic jam of stranded and bogged down vehicles. I think mincemeat is the correct military term.

However, the Russians have managed to hit a mobile Ukrainian base close to the Polish border. Yes mobile: it's obviously been on the move to make itself difficult to hit. The Times, Telegraph and Mail spotted it 15 miles from the border, the Express and Mirror only 6 miles inside Ukraine, the Sun reports it as being 11 miles in and the Grauniad 10. Bloody cunning. Do you think Devonport could be mounted on wheels?

I was heard the BBC announcer's patter between two programmes recently in which he used to word (if you can call it that) "convo" as in "there will be "convo" between the Minister for Culture, Media and also Sport and our Chief Political Correspondent".

I know we have to pander to the semi literate youth of today but what is "convo" doing on the BBC?

So when I read this in the Sunday paper, I wished I'd written it.

After 2 years plus of avoiding it I have finally succumbed to the dreaded Covid. Went to football on Tuesday and felt a bit under the weather when I got home. Went down hill overnight from there so decided to do a test the next morning. And there it was. Not feeling great but on the other hand have felt worse in my lifetime. The one redeeming thing is it waited until the glut of fixtures was over and I had 11 days to get rid before the next home match. I blame Boris. Then again I blame him for everything.

I think you should isolate from this site as well.....I've just disinfected my keyboard just in case.......have you checked out your jolly band of greens...to see if anyone else has gone down as well.

I notice on Wednesday we had 102,483 new cases in the country.....that is the equivalent of one million in ten days.

Plymouth had 1,246 new cases on Wednesday....and here in the Borough of Bromley we had 828 cases....and our population is 100,000 more than yours.

No one is taking it serious anymore....mask wearing has dropped dramatically....you feel like the odd one out...stopping outside a shop to put one on.

My next door neighbour has it and says if this is the mild version, he wouldn't like to get the bad one. He's a sailor, not a footie fan. Likewise the next house down where he is a season ticket holder in Block 1 I think along with his 2 boys. I'm not clear if they attended on Saturday. I don't think they socialise to any great extent so they probably caught it independently.

That's the first time in all this that I've known anyone that close that's definitely got it and as it's two simultaneously and independently, it must suggest it's rampant at the moment.

Of course not Plym I've visited all of my neighbours young and old and haven't told anyone else I've got it. Tomorrow I'm going to go to every supermarket I can find and make sure I cough and sneeze for England.

I wear a mask in shops and enclosed places. Even at Argyle where there are only a handful who do this I wear a mask on my way to my seat. Boris said it was ok and nobody had to wear a mask anywhere now and you could even go to work if you had it with no restrictions. What do you expect people to do with that kind of leadership? I kept telling you the buffoon was a Jonah and since he got into Office nothing at all has gone right either in this Country or around the World. Covid has returned with avengence. The Country has gone tits up financially. Europe is at war. The NHS has fallen apart. We can't buy stuff in the shops like we used to because the prices have trebled. We have to sit around in overcoats because the heating is too dear. All that's left is the Queen dies and Charlie and that woman get crowned. Full house.

(Note: no other person has been hurt in the discovery of my Covid and the story of me spreading it has been vastly exaggerated in the making of this post)

    He's not the complete Jonah.....(yet).

1.....He did get us out of the EU....which with Putin's help will now be turning into a Federation of States...... heading towards having its own military powers....and worst of all a Germany that has now decided to spend billions of euros to become a world leading military power.....have we not been here before.

2.....Boris has not yet put the mockers on Argyle's successful season....and if we don't get promoted it will still be seen as successful.

Have you noticed how isolated we've been lately?

The US used to regard us as a bridge to the EU. Now we're outside it, we're a bit player. France, Germany and the US are leading the way. Poland is showing what a thoughtful, caring European nation does by offering up its MIG fighters for transfer to Ukraine ownership and welcoming distressed mothers, children and pensioners fleeing the carnage. What are we doing by comparison? How the Brexiteers loved the Poles when they were here clearing our blocked toilets whilst work-shy Brits lay a-bed moaned about their benefits being too low,

It's no wonder this has brought the EU and NATO to the fore: this is exactly why these extra-territorial bodies are so important. What was Ukraine's first response to the attack? Pea-brained nationalism? No, a plea for immediate admission to the EU.

Germany has decided to anti-up with 3% of GDP on defence and quite right too. That compares with 3.7% by America and our pathetic 2% which we spend so badly it's probably 1% in its effect. Japan needs to do the same to face down the Chinese bully. America can't - and won't - do it alone. Did you hear anything about defence spending in the Spring Statement this week? No. Isn't it clear we need to match the 3% at least and spend it well so we get more planes, ships and things that go bang for our money?

Isn't it clear we'd be far better off in the EU?

You are wasting your time even saying half of that notdistant because there is nobody so deaf as the hard of understanding. I will tell you one thing I noticed the other day when they showed all the European leaders and US President. There was Boris standing all on his own with his hands in his pockets and nobody to talk to anymore. He looked like that kid in the school playground with no mates scuffing the ground with his shoe. I will repeat that since he was made PM nothing, that is absolutely NOTHING has gone right and I include leaving Europe in that list. He is a complete Jonah and won't be satisfied until he and his little gang have fecked up this Country completely. He and they will then scuttle off with their millions and have a jolly good laugh at what they have left behind. Anyone who voted for that idiot deserves all they get from this. Trouble is the rest of us have to sink as well.

And if Argyle don't get promoted then I will blame him for that as well. Reasoning being that he pretends to be Green but lies about that as well.

    A PLOUGHMAN'S LUNCH.

It seems that a Pub in the Dartmoor village of Belstone, Devon has renamed the traditional dish.....it has re-branded the Ploughman's Lunch to make it more befitting of a gender-neutral age.

The Tors pub now offers what it has described on its menu as the "Ploughperson's" lunch, for £12.50.

It still contains all the ingredients associated with the conventional ploughman's lunch....cheese, ham, pickled onions, chutney and bread.....suggesting nothing was thought to be wrong with the original dish itself.

A picture of the pub's menu with the new name of the dish, was posted on social media by Charlotte Deakins who wrote....."The world is off its rocker and quite frankly I'm sick of it".

Her picture quickly went viral as members of the public shared her despair that one of Britains best loved meals appeared to be falling victim to cancel culture.

Culture cancelling and wokeism knows no boundaries.

Dicky Harrison, the innkeeper at the pub said today: "It seems our ‘Ploughperson’ menu choice caused quite a Twitter storm last night! We put it on the menu two years ago and really was just a bit of fun and something to catch the eye.

"We are a Dartmoor Free-house and as such we can have a bit of a fun with what we offer and more importantly sell local products. It was just meant to be tongue in cheek and didn’t expect such a reaction.

So basically a story about nothing very much then. The more shocking aspect is that they charge £12.50 for not much more than a sandwich.

Funny how Fate repeatedly bites you where you sit down isn't it? For decades we've worried which top-tier World Cup and Euro teams the dreaded balls would draw us against.

Now we're finally in Pot 1 under Gareth Bale,we find Germany and the Netherlands in Pot 2. Hmm it's tough at the top.

    LIVING UNDER COVID.

As elderly good citizens....Mrs Plym and I have faithfully obeyed the rule set us by the government and the experts who advise them.

BUT in the last few weeks we have all been released from rules and regulations....and advised to do what WE feel is right and safe for ourselves and the community we live in.

Result chaos.....a state of general disorder now exists.....resulting in covid infection rampant throughout the country.....and the end result is that people selfishly do their own thing and devil take the hindmost attitude seems to exist.

Our immediate family have done quite well during the first two years of the pandemic.....one worked in the ambulance service and one worked in a childrens hospital attached to St Thomas' all have done quite well avoiding Covid 19.

The situation since the beginning of March has changed.....

1.....Although my son-in-law has now retired from the ambulance service... they do still employ him as a tutor....half way through his latest course he goes down with Covid....and TEN DAYS LATER he still testing positive....he's okay and they are happy for him to continue the course.....and by the way his wife (my daughter) catches Covid possibly from him.

2.....Mrs Plym and myself test positive last Sunday (27th) we have had no contact with family members before we tested positive...so it wasn't passed on through the family.....I have come through two negative test and now am clear (No symptoms at all with me....I only tested because Mrs Plym felt a little dodgy on the Sunday morning)......Mrs Plym not totally negative after 8 days so will test again tomorrow.

3.....My daughter-in-law tested positve last Wednesday (30th)....in her job she has to test twice a day....she's a little under the weather but otherwise okay.....three other nurses are off work in her area at the moment.

Son-in-law and Daughter-in-law can still get free test kits through their NHS connections....the rest of us have to now buy test kits.......okay I'm reluctant that I have to pay...but that is how it is.....but there is a problem....no pharmacy for miles around here have any kits to sell.....and it seems they are only selling kits as one offs....costing up th £3.00 for each kit.

If you go on line you will find every Tom,Dick and Harry have got into the act.....you can pay anything between £2.00 and £6.00 for a single test kit.....and you get charged extra for a speedy service....the standard charge means you can wait 6 to 10 days for delivery.

They reckon last week there were 4.8 million cases reported....I have no doubt that with chargeable kits ...(that aren't available at Chemist's at the moment)... the positive rate is probably upto twice that and multitudes of people will never know if they are positive because they show no symptoms and cannot test themselves anyway and will of course spread the symptoms to others.....is this what they mean by.....LIVING WITH COVID.
