We had our second jab on the 8th April....roughly 75% have had one jab and 50% have had two jabs here in the UK.....of all adults.
Blimey Plym, you can't be watching much football if you think that was bad. I watched the Villareal v Man Utd Europa League final in mid week and that displayed some REAL chicanery, mostly from Villareal to be fair. I thought last night's game was a pretty good advert for English football, not a classic technically but two skilled sides going at each other hammer & tongs for 90 minutes. Yes, there was some simulation but unfortunately it's everywhere nowadays, as Sensible will confirm even from some of the crappy sides we see at Home Park. I thought the referee was magnificent. You don't hear that very often do you? Let the game flow, didn't take any nonsense, communicated with the players and got most of the decisions right... take a bow Antonio Miguel Mateu Lahoz.
I had my second Astra Zeneca 10 days ago, better half has had first and second is due in first full week of June. First vaccinations are now being offered to people over 30. You may not know that the hospitality suite at Home Park is being used as the biggest vaccination centre in the city.
Not me notDistant.....if it's not on the BBC or ITV terrestial channels....then I have no means of watching......anti-Sky as well as I've mentioned before.....they can gush money like a waterfall without my help.
That is true but it's not a tide you can turn. I pay I think £20 something a month to Sky on top of my broadband & TV package (Virgin) for which I get: BT Sport channels Inc some EPL games, England Internationals and other bits & bobs Sky's football coverage International Rugby F1 and other motor sports coverage Sky Movies - not the latest releases, which come around eventually, but last night watched Oscar nominated The United States v Billie Holliday for free Sky 1 drama, documentary and history channels, all have good bits - watched the United Way documentary last week, narrated by Eric Cantona. I'm sorry but not subscribing is cutting off your nose to spite your face in a hopeless cause.
Oh and you are a tennis fan aren't you? Or is it Sensible. I don't watch but all the ATP tournaments are shown for free.... Once you've paid the subscription.
And I'm here in the kitchen preparing dinner with the 4th day of Lancashire v Yorkshire County Cricket on!
It was free on BT sport as was the Europa final. I wouldn't subscribe to sky but will have a watch if they want to let me for nothing. I do not watch Tennis. I would rather poke my eyes out with a spikey thing. I would and do watch cricket if on a free to view channel. I even watch ladies wot play. Anyway I was still appalled at the diving and rolling about and I'm sorry but it does kill a lot of my interest in a game when it goes on. I watched one half of the Man U game and switched it off. It isn't just foreign players that do it either. The Brits are or have become just as bad for it now. Not quite in Naymar's class for a scream and triple roll but getting there. What got me last night about the Ref was he clearly saw some of it as a dive or feigned foul and he did allow play to go on regularly. However, he didn't stamp down on the act by booking a few early on. One of the funniest was, and I can't remember which player it was except it was a Chelsea one, went down as if his legs had been blown off and stayed down. The Ref gave nothing and a minute later the player got to his feet and sprinted back into his position when Man City were attacking. Even the Commentators commented on it. I don't like it in the game and it is spoiling it slowly but surely.
I remember the incident: yes, pathetic. Star diver of the English leagues is Richarlison of Everton. He's Brazilian and has the full South American skulduggery tool box. Never loses the ball without falling over, never falls over without a bloodcurdling scream.
Probably honed their skills at the Jurgen Klinsmann school of diving....one of the players who introduced the English game to the dark arts.....the annoying thing about him was he was a good player who didn't need to do it.
Morecambe playing Newport in the League 2 play off final. Newport playing all the football, surprise surprise. Morecambe fielding Songo and Diagouraga. Also, Kyle Letheren, who in the first half came for a Newport corner, missed the ball but felled the Newport attacker with two fists to the head. No penalty but classic Letheren. Oh and I missed Kelvin Mellor on the Mirecambe bench.
Derek Adams wins at second go at Wembley.....well done.....there were 5 ex-Argyle players on the pitch during this match.
I can't really dislike Derek Adams as a Manager even if I can dislike his brand of football. Will be interesting to see what happens with Morecambe next season as I can't see them having the resources to be any threat in League one. Adams does well at clubs with little money and resources but he will need to do more than well with this one.
He was unwise enough to say that Morecambe could make the Championship after the game. Talk about mouth writing cheques he may not be able to cash. I can't dislike him either. He took a huge amount of abuse from fans before his departure from Argyle, especially because the tunnel between the Devonport End and Lyndhurst was the access to the dressing room portacabins. Unsurprising he went off the deep end. Ironically, those very fans would love a performance like that away from home. They long to see Lowe's Argyle to do the same. Dogged, stubborn, undeserved but nicked by a lucky goal. Ideally, it would be accompanied by some provocative remarks from The Man Himself that sent hhe opposing manager into a hissy fit. They call it Adams ****housery.
I'll say one thing. Yann Songo'o was absolutely immense early Morecambe's Man of the Match. Resolute at CB, throwing himself at every ball, superb.
Partial eclipse of the Sun today between 10am and noon......unfortunately not around here could it be seen.....wall to wall cloud cover.
