I was in the RN, they didn't trust us with guns for god sake. Actually we did basically the same as Plym describes. Joined and in training they took us down the range and let us loose firing at targets a long way off. No bren gun though but I have had a go. Was at sea and the heaviest weapon on that ship was a bren as it was a survey ship. They were testing it off the ass end of the ship and I happened to go past. They let me have a go and it nearly took my arms off. Scared a few seagulls a bit.

Bit of a funny story. When I was at CinC Fleets place at Northwood in the days of the IRA blowing things up and stuff, there was a break in at a sports shop down the road and a load of shotguns etc were nicked. I was part of the duty watch that day and we were ordered to close the Establishment down and patrol the perimeter. They gave us a stick with a metal chunk on the end and told to challenge any intruder if we came across one. So off me and one other went walking around the perimeter fence with our stick and as you may guess we never looked very hard for anyone to challenge. Only in the RN would they pit a stick weilding matelot against a terrorist with a handful of shotguns. Priceless.

As said not going Joe. Don't think anyone on here is going unless notdistant does. Leeds and back in a day will be a bit tiring.

Can't believe there are over 8000 at HP for a pre season friendly against not particularly attractive opposition. Wish I was there now!

Pasoti says it was pretty much a full strength side from WBA. Premiership opposition even if it was a friendly so a draw and not conceeding seems a decent enough result to me. Also a bit surprised at the crowd size. From what I can gather it was a bit of chaos as well with tickets and seating and stuff. Typical Argyle to be honest. They cannot organise anything without antagonising their customers. One day they will realise that we are customers and not cattle.

Another Argyle moan coming I'm afraid. I just can't get over how poor they are at the customer thing considering Brent is meant to be in the Hotel trade which relies on it's customer experience.

Went to get my season ticket today for son and other Saturday gang as well. They put my son's ticket in with my ticket but didn't bother with a letter each or a fixture list. So one between two customers then. Checked mates envelope and the same applied with him as well. It's just lazy and poor. Ok I don't need two fixture lists and probably nor does the mate either but it's not the point. They just cannot get anything right and as it seems to be with virtually everything they touch you have to wonder if anyone actually cares a jot anyway. If this stuff was anything other than my football team then I have to say I wouldn't go back there with the poor service given.

Having read your comments above sensible.... about the lack of consistancy of the club to get things right.....plus the comments we get about stewarding morons.....I then read James Brent's comments about Derek Adams and how pleased he is with his management style.... and that it isn't just having a good team but a good Club approach goes hand in hand with success on the pitch.....someone needs to point out that management staff other than the playing side are not quite up to the job at present.....amateurism seems to be the word that comes to mind.

Not as poor as football though Joe. It probably isn't just Argyle although I have no experience of the others. They dish out any old rubbish and supporters are expected to just accept it. That's after charging the earth for the product. This latest thing is minor I know but add it to the Wembley stuff and it shows a distinct lack of any organisation or care at all.

Lots of anti-Merkel feeling in Germany and her open door policy.

Merkel must go, thousands turn up to protest against her refugee policy.

The German people have had enough of this, there are people now condemning the EU's free movement of people, claiming it had allowed for the free movement of illegal ex-soviet weapons from eastern to western Europe, together with them came arms dealers, gangsters, drug dealers.

The scathing attack comes as thousands of people took to the streets of Berlin to protest against the German Chancellors open door policy.

With elections due soon in Germany Angela Merkel is coming under pressure and there is the possibility of Government change and then a change of freedom of movement which is becoming the root of so much trouble throughout the EU area.

Brexit's negotiations regarding free trade agreements and the freedom of movement throughout the EU might be solved by the EU countries themselves..... seeing that it is an open door policy for the movement of terrorists and their activities throughout the continent for disaster.

Signs are that we might be getting out at the right time as unrest spreads throughout the EU.

Strange answer notDistant.....you'll have to explain yourself.

Merkel's intentions might of been good....but she has opened a can of worms that has undermined the EU's freedom of movement stance....things need controlling somehow.
