Theresa May's cabinet of 24 (including herself) has 20 state school educated members......ending the Eton/ Oxford stranglehold.....and also has 8 women in it.

One women I was pleased to see get the chop was Nicky Morgan whe used to wind me up everytime she was on 'Question Time'.

Surprised to see Jeremy Hunt keeping his Health job....thought a fresh face was required there to sought out this junior Doctors stand-off.....it looked as if he thought he was for the chop when he went in to No10.....he'd removed his NHS lapel badge....but coming out he had replaced it.

Bit of a gambol with Boris....but remember he did roam the world on behalf of London, promoting it to everyone.....and did a good job bringing in investment.....the 'Boris' bike scheme and the promotion of safer cycling has helped to protect cyclists in a car/lorry dominated city. He is well known worldwide and will be not the main Brexit negotiator....that will be David Davis who Cameron completely ignored (not Eton/Oxford).

Prime Minister May said the 'right' words when entering No10.....a more equal society etc etc.....that might get more working class voters interested.... seeing that Labour are busy imploding....or voting for UKIP.

Picture in todays newspaper of Cameron and Osborne and families meeting for coffee and pastries at a pavement table at the Lisboa Cafe in Kensington............Cameron who cannot get into his London home at present because it is rented out is staying in a friends £17 million house in the meanwhile.....this emergency accomodation a Holland Park house is £7000/£8000 a week rent, seven bedrooms and six bathrooms is owned by close friend Sir Alan Parker who by chance was knighted for services to business, charitable giving and philanthropy in the New Years Honours list.....unsurprisingly Cameron will not be paying rent whilst staying there.....a case of you scratched my back so i'll repay you with free board and lodging Dave mate......I shall say know more.....just good to see the back of Cameron and Osborne and the unravelling of the clique that controlled Cameron's cabinet.

Good write up Plym.. Interesting times ahead.

I thought that Cameroon and osbourne done a good job.. We will have to see how this new cabinet gets on and keep an eye on Boris.. he has upset a lot of the EU leaders, will be good to see their response to him..

Also another terrible incident in France again?

    Interesting:

Neil Pannett: Put an end to players shielding the ball whilst it runs out of play off an opposition player - either play it or let opponent.

George Harrold: If a player stays down for 30secs, he must be temporarily taken off the pitch for treatment and allow the game to continue.

Dave White: Let's play 90 mins. Ball out of play? Stop clock. Start again when throw in or kick is taken, like in NFL.

I just always love the Labour view that anything a Tory does must be bent or nose shoving in a trough time. Of course nobody in the working man's labour party would ever think of feathering their own nest or giving anything to anyone else for personal gain. How fecking naive can you be. Shock revelation. Cameron knows some rich people and one of them is doing him a favour. Oh no how can that be. I'd lay decent odds that Cameron wasn't expecting to leave No.10 just yet and that wasn't in his mind when he knighted the landlord because he never expected him to be his landlord. If he did anticipate all of this then he must have one hell of a crystal ball. No story here so lets all move along shall we and make a comment about something that has some semblance of credibility.

Suddenly Boris despite being a Tory is the darling of the working man having done this marvelous job for London and looked after all the little people. The man is a bumbling liability and went around the world, as previous pointed out by notdistant, insulting anyone and everyone with his stupid remarks. I hope some President somewhere sticks one on him when he has to go there. He needed to decide if he wanted a career in politics or the media as a slapstick member of the upper classes. In my opinion he was a tart for the media bit so best if he had stuck to that.

    Rant over.

Now who are these people making these sensible comments about football Joe?

I'm not a Labour voter sensible.......I've said before that my vote goes to whoever might be able to defeat the Conservative candidate.....having lived in Tory strongholds all my adult life....I have seen the way that a long rule by one party in an area can be a problem that shows no balance for all those that live in a borough, my view would be the same if I lived in a Labour stronghold as well

Theresa May said fine words outside No10 on Wednesday, what I remember most is that she vowed to lead a country "that works not for a few but for every one of us"......it reminded me of Thatcher's vow to bring "harmony where there was discord"....I'm sorry I find such statements so cynical and so insincere.....the Tory Home Counties voters don't expect that to happen and would be up in arms if it did, they expect to be looked after by a Tory government in the custom that they have grown use to.

With the Labour party at war with itself strong opposition to keep a Tory government honest is none existent at the moment....with the Lib Dems still licking there wounds with a poor leader at present.....where does the opposition come from at the moment..... the Scottish SNP.....who can't make up their minds if they want to be part of the UK or EU....a case of whats in it for them......will UKIP still gain ground as they did at the last general election........no leadership at the moment now that their talisman Nigel Farage seems to think he has won his personsl 20 yr war against Brussels and its grandees.

Back to blighty today, (just got in) so will have to catch up with all the political goings on. Had a lovely 2 weeks in Italy doing nothing- journey home was a bit of a nightmare though; massive thunder storms on the drive from the villa to the airport. Flew BA club class as a special 25th wedding anniversary treat-Mrs Lyndy has decided she wants to do that every year (no chance). Our so called priority luggage turned up soaked through(for no apparent reason) after an hours wait at Gatwick so stress levels were fairly high. Popped across to the Sofitel hotel to pick the car up (it had been there for the two weeks)- no problem until about 2 miles down the road when my Mrs noticed a huge cobweb on the dashboard - I wiped it away only to set free dozens of tiny spiders that had obviously just hatched- nightmare journey home killing spiders (still itching now). any suggestions on how to get rid of the rest of them?.

Put a mint plant in car and slightly open a window for a week or so. Spiders hate mint!

I've been using my computer withut using a battery on advice from my IT neighbour. It is fine until you accidentally unplug the bleddy thing whilst you are logged on. Tonight I unplugged myself and I've had all sorts of crap trying to get back into stuff because it logged me out of all the things I normally am automatically logged onto. Like not606. I've had to log back in but of course because I don't do it normally could I remember my bleddy password.....doh!!!! As you can see I got here eventually but not without a thousand adverts and several aborted attempts. I shall be more careful with the cable in furture.

The first question Plym asks when offering a drink to anyone is "which half would you like?"

I won't assume you had a good time touring BC but hope you did anyway. I've never been to the Northumberland end of the Country. Not seen it as a tourist place so far but then again you never know until you've been so might give it a go one day.

You would be surprised about Northumberland Sensible. True it isnt a touristy place in the traditional sense but it is absolutely stunning in terms of scenery and huge beaches. Been there a few times with Mrs Lyndy and it is our favorite destination after Italy. Depends what you are after-we still walk quite a bit (knee pain permitting!) and it really is worth a visit-been in March and september and you can walk for miles on the beach without meeting hardly anyone. If you want something to do there are the castles at Bamburgh (and somewhere else), Alnwick house for the gardens, Lindisfarne for a bit of tranquility (though it is quite busy) and last but not least Craster for the kippers and crab. What's not to like? (though don't tell everyone as we would like it to stay quiet).

I'm not one of these tourist snobs lyndhurst who has to go somewhere fashionable. I like the different and don't like the norm. If you go abroad these days then there is always the risk of problems and there is no way I could do a 2 week beach holiday. What's the point of going somewhere if all you see is a hotel and beach. Having travelled a bit in my time I quite like the idea of seeing places in this country I haven't before. I think some people would be a bit shocked at what's around in their own country. I will probably do "up North a long way" one of these days.

Couldn't agree more. Haven't done a hotel or beach holiday for about 15 years-much rather just go somewhere in the middle of nowhere:-if me and Mrs Lyndy can go a whole two weeks away without talking to anyone else then it means we have had a pretty good time.

We walked for miles on the beaches at Whitley Bay mostly in the wind and rain.
We have Family there who drove us to all the Castles and sights even touched on Scotland.
We had a great overnight at the Pheasant Inn somewhere in the depth of Nothumberland real old Inn with a great Pub.
Fish & Chips were the best ive ever had..
I tried all the Northern Beers but settled for John Smith Bitter and London Pride.
On the plane back i watched the movie Dad's Army different actors of course but the same old Dad's Army..
Our plane was the BA Air Bus 380 Double Decker 476 of us lining up at Heathrow and Vancouver Customs..
Taxing out from Heathrow the plane stopped The First Officer announced we have to go back to the terminal as we are missing a passenger and have to unload the
baggage Problem was there is only three push machines at H/R that could handle the 380.....2hrs later we were on our way..
    Still Jet Lagged.

Just reminded me of that old tongue twister when you've had a few of those beers:

I'm not a pheasant plucker I'm a pheasant pluckers son and I'm only plucking pheasants till the pheasant plucker comes.
