I see Yates has now been caught... he was riding on his good luck in relation to other cyclists..and now is back in the pack...good for him though...
Feeling was it wasn't going to last long - can concentrate on winning stages now. And shame for the Swiss chap who went alone for miles but then just got caught by the big GC guys in the sprint at the end.
Big day today, Thursday, for the Tour de France fans in these parts as it comes through the area. It starts in Chauvigny which is a historic old town, and the castle on top of the hill is now used to fly and display birds of prey. It is quite something to see the storks let out for their evening exercise. It is the longest stage in the race, and goes through three departments, The Vienne, The Haut-Vienne and the Corrèze a total of 218 kms. There will be parts of the route around Ambazac that Yorkie will know before it finally gets to a village of only 300 people called Sarran, the smallest place ever to have a stage finish. I might even go to Lathus and watch as there is a shop there that sells wonderful homemade ice cream.
yes................... drove along the immacutely retarmaced and marked piece of road last week.... whilst all the roads around have not seen a road repairer in 20 years....
Funny to see the Aussies doing what we are so used to doing and collapsing like a pack of cards when well placed!
Pogacar wins TdF after an amazing time trial where he took a minute out of Roglic and won by 30 seconds or so.
Quite amazing watching when I could. Massive storm here and kept losing the signal. Roglic looked devastated at the end.
Off to play pool in a bit - 10,000mxp up for grabs. I am in it to win it, and not too shabby at playing either.
Just watched game 1 of this year's State of Origin series. A home game for Queensland although played in Adelaide, their completely revamped young team had a shock 18-14 win over NSW. I'm taking this as a good omen for a home win for us tonight.
I watched it live and wondered how he could have survived and then on the restart Stroll flipped on to his roof 20 years ago they would both have been dead and the safety measures in F1 have been transferred to modern family cars for our safety
Tiger Woods injured in a car crash. Hopefully be ok but had to be cut out of the car. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/golf/56172067
