I think Joe Root is my favourite sportsman outside football. Half time at the SA T20 game today was the equivalent of being 5-0 down at half time..terrible bowling and average fielding and observers saying England should be packing their bags. Then a bloke who doesn't look a day over 16 plays a quite brilliant innings and finds time to have a laugh in the middle of all the pressure. Just a shame he wasn't still there at the end, but great to watch all the same.
Would it be fair to assume that an English win in Paris tonight will result in our Celtic neighbours claiming that grand slams are meaningless? Boy do we need this one.

Re the boxing: I hope Blackwell makes a full recovery. Obviously he'll never box again but hopefully he will be able to lead a normal life.
