Surely the thought of bumping into Geoffrey Boycott more than adequately does that? :)

I en joyed playing tennis when I was younger - partly because it was easier to arrange to meet a mate down the local rec and have a game - unlike football which had to be organised. watching it though is another matter - to me it just is not as exciting as football

Aside from motor sports I will watch pretty much anything. Favourites other than football would be rugby union, cricket, Gaelic football Aussie rules and horse racing.

The only sport I cannot stand and have no interest in is horse racing. Was taken on a corporate do to Cheltenham once and was fed up after the food and drink stopped.

I can not think of much worse than being stuck at a sport or concert that you can not abide!

I find dressage hard to get excited about but other elements of 3 day eventing can be fun to watch

Been lucky enough to attend a Basho in Japan, not that sumo lends itself to the telly. I really enjoyed a day out at the Phillies last month too. Thoroughly enjoy baseball.

Rugby Union and golf are arguably my two main sports after football but, frankly, I enjoy pretty much anything that doesn't involve twirling ribbons or horses. Pool, snooker, billiards and darts are surely all parlour games?

Just thought of the sport that I hate more than horse racing.

    Synchronized swimming.

Many years ago Channel 4 showed championship kabaddi from India. I thought that was quite exciting. I have just discovered, via Mr. Wikipedia, that NZ were runners up to India in the 2013 world Kabaddi cup!

I still love a bit of F1. When I was back home I visited a few of the European circuits. Spa-Francorchamps was always a favourite, as was Estoril.

Now the US Grand Prix is just up the road from me I might make a point of going to that one later in the year.

I still can't get into the major US sports like GridIron (and I have been to see the Dallas Cowboys a couple of times). Baseball is a bit like cricket in that it's an excuse to drink and eat all day long in the summer. And as for basketball - pfft.

What about drilling through your nail with an electric drill ? That surely is a lot worse :)

Horse racing is better if you have money on the nags so that you have an ulterior interest.

Fair point about the BBC/ITV coverage of the football Leo.

I think in this country as seen in the Olympics people will watch almost anything if its a big event like Wimbledon but take no interest for the rest of the year.

    I like F1 as well.
Never actually been to a grand prix but did a tour of silverstone last year which was really good.
So I have been on the podium where Lewis needs to be later on :emoticon-0100-smile

Fair point <laugh>. I had family connections with racing in Newmarket and Ireland as a kid hence the interest but yes the fun of having a flutter certainly adds to it!

It is staggering what you can bet on these days. They even give odds on which team will kick off.

Earlier on in this thread someone mentioned the use of stats on Telly. I like them on the BBC as they make you think from different angles. I do think in the US they go too far the other way and the commentators will be more focussed on yardage etc. than the actual skill that created the score in the first place.

Why is the British GP on BBC2 and a boring tennis match with no British interest on BBC1 ?

Anyway it is time to watch

Love cricket...watch regularly and played good club cricket for 30 years or so. I watch rugby on TV sometimes. In my youth, so a long time ago, I played league badminton and table tennis.

Sports I can't get very excited about include boxing, motor racing, basketball, baseball, American football and anything on a horse.

Bit of a mess at the start of the British GP - race needed restarting after an accident
