Walks like a man Talks like a man and punches like a man Its a man If things carry on like this the only women in sports will be trans or men identifying as a woman
How were they allowed to even get in? Surely could have been avoided. Anyway on a more positive note good to see Team GD doing well and no doubt the hosts are pleased with their efforts so far too.
And it gets worse with so many disciplines in the Olympics which were once male only such as the hammer throw and weight lifting now having women's competitions as well, which are bound to attract 'borderline cases'.
Always amazed at how many swimming medals are on offer at competitions like this - like four different ways fo getting from A to B. Freestyle, backstyle, breaststroke, butterfly etc.etc. Maybe they should bring in the same in the running events - like 100m sackrace, or hopping.
I suppose things have improved a little ! The last time Paris was entrusted with the Olympic games (in 1900) the disciplines included Poodle clipping , Pidgeon shooting (live ones), and a swimming obstacle race (sounds fun - maybe with a shark thrown in).
It would appear that the Aussie Rachel Gunn has just had an all expenses paid holiday in Paris. Somehow, she was selected to represent the country in the break dancing contest, despite the fact she can't do it. The judges gave her a mighty 0 points, not surprisingly when up against people half her age. Still, she probably has many pictures of the Paris landmarks to take home, so a few minutes on stage will have been well worth it.
Did the French enjoy their home Olympics ? Certainly a lot of their athletes had a successful time - greatest ever performance.
They have enjoyed the success of the athletes, and there are reports from Paris of a mood change. The residents are finding that neighbours they have lived with for years, are now speaking for the first time. The shops, bars and restaurants in Chateauroux are reporting that an increase in numbers in the town has not brought about an increase in spending. My granddaughter had a wonderful time being in charge of the VIP enclosure, even if she hadn't a clue who these important people were. She is looking forward to the paras starting.
Yes definitely did . Netherlands too . We had a dip on golds but still managed to get more than in Toyko. Sort of event that can bring people together in tough times .
