Amazing tense game by the looks of it as Afghanistan just win . Poor Aussies eh.? Probably thought the rain was going to save them.
England fast bowler Ollie Robinson was hit for 43 runs in the most expensive over in the history of the County Championship. Sussex’s Robinson was struck for two sixes, six fours - three of which were off no-balls - and a single by Leicestershire's Louis Kimber in the fourth and final day of their Division Two match on Wednesday.
I've long since stopped following the County Championship in earnest, but I understand that this could not have happened to a nicer fella... Anyone care to explain?
I'm still trying to work out how that lot totalled 43. 36 from boundaries + a single + 3 extras for the 3 no balls? That makes 40 - or have I missed something?
Extra run added for each no-ball in this format. Three no-balls cost six runs, not three as in test cricket. I think the same applies in T20.
Jesus wept - different rules for what is essentially the same game. Why can't they leave things alone - all this tinkering is just not cricket...
Easy win for South Africa v Afghanistan. No play yet for us v India . Apparently has stopped raining now so maybe play soon ?
India 171/7 from their 20. Anyone's game really. It struck me that the attendance there for a world cup semi final is pretty dismal - I reckon I've played in front of a bigger crowd. It'll be embarrassing if Sunday's final is as bad.
Amidst all the other sports going on, the Tour de France starts this Saturday in that well known French city of Florence.
I don't know why, but that straightaway made me think of the Monty Python sketch about 'the hundred yard dash for people with no sense of direction'...
Mrs Fez has gone into full Paul Merton HIGNFY mode: squints, draws head back, looks left, right, left...
Rather a gripping T20 final - won by India by 7 runs. Unlucky South Africa - only lost thanks to an amazing catch over the boundary rope by Yadav to remove Miller.
Yes South Africa kind of lost it but India weee excellent when it mattered including that inspired bit of skill.
Geoffrey Boycott diagnosed with cancer again, 22 years after beating the first bout. Stubborn old goat that he is, he'll probably beat this one too.
Mark Cavendish becomes the record holder of the most wins in the Tour. Well done . Great achievement.
