imo the fury fight was all about delaying and imo the draw was a fix to set up rematch. the result was so ridiculaous
Oooooof... watching Cowboys vs Seahawks ... dudes ankle just snapped and the upper broken end got drove into the ground....Christ... I've broken one side of my ankle and that ****ing hurt....God knows how that just felt!
Yeah...Kansas for me too. Cowboys running out of receivers too quick to have a chance. Patriots have looked weak this season but you can never rule them out in play off stage.
what do you think lfcpower not sure about the number though, thats sturridges number isn't it? please log in to view this image
So is 2019 another year of the Hamilton? Or will someone beat him? Do people think Lance Stroll or Russel will get any points? Any other new young hotshots that will cause surprise? What happened to that young arab ancestry-british kid who was smashing all Hamilton's records in the lower formulas? Anyone know where he is now.
Tennis: think that slog to get to world number 1, playing endless tournaments really did it for Murray. Its a hard game physically anyway but the amount needed to reach no1 is just too much (unless you dominate the Slams) Can't see the point in trying for no1 anyway. Nobody remembers it the long run, once you reach the top10 just focus on winning Slams (and Olympics, Davis Cup etc things people will remember).
In the long term, Nadal and Federer will be remembered and probably Djokovic too. Don't see Murray being mentioned much.
C'mon mate....that's just daft. He was world class and grabbed grand slams in an era when those three were around. He wrecked himself to do it which I actually admire.... plenty of tennis players would have settled for the odd minor title and second place while shrugging and pointing at those guys. Dude had elephant balls. Maybe not likeable but plenty of guts. And enough skill to compete in one of the toughest eras of men's tennis.. . At the top anyway. He'll be remembered generally.... and specifically he'll be mentioned by the bbc for the next 50 years
I was going to say pretty much the same... His name will be known, but he's not going to be considered one of the all time greats... Except for in the British Press where they'll remind everyone at every tournament that the last time we won this was 1966... Or whenever it was Murray won. Wimbledons will be measured in "years since Murray won". (I'd be willing to bet a larger % of people in England could give you the year England last won the World Cup than could give you dates like: What year did World War I start, or what year was the Gulf War).
I agree with @RogerisontheHunt about the sheer amount of tournaments, it's just relentless, week after week. it's buggered Nadal up, the amount of knee problems he's had over the years. Djokka had elbow issues last year and Murray with his hip. its just far too much. Fed has got away with it because he picks and chooses his tournaments and doesn't play at all (or very little) during the clay court season thus having a good break in mid season. I do feel sorry for Murray though. to have injury end your career is not a good end for any athlete.
I do think some of the British press calling him the 'Greatest ever British player' are going way over the top. Ignoring the early years of Tennis when only poshos played, still think that should be reserved for Fred Perry, who has been done a massive disservice by the British Press cause he went Pro at a time of amateur status, and was by all accounts a frankly amazing player, who won every thing. Murray, '2nd best British Tennis player of all time'
Think it also has to do with style of play.... the three with injuries were athlete players .... run you into the ground. Federer makes you RUN into the ground. Technically the most gifted player of the modern age.... economy of stroke while hitting lines is just ridiculous
