Is this an early April Fools joke? https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport...kCopy&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=sharebar WoL has got to be clucking joking. It would be an insult to Gary Speed's memory and everything Wales have achieved in the last 12 years or so. Page is barely adequate but Keane would be an absolute disaster. I would not renew my Red Wall membership if he was appointed.
Good win for Wrexham yesterday. 3 points off top. A point behind Notts County. Two teams to go back to back promotions?
I think when you have a team that's been doing it for the last three seasons, it pays testament to the fact that they don't know when they're beaten. Their philosophy of simply outscoring the other team works for them. I was talking to another Bluebird about them and he seemed very bitter about what's going on with them. Not sure why but the green eyed monster might be at play. Personally I wish them well...until they come up against us.
I’ll be honest Clingo mate, I’m not a fan and just as they’re welsh means nothing to me - as otherwise I’d be ok with swansea & Newport. I go back to the late 70’s when our matches with Wrexham were a big deal - swansea & Newport were in the basement leagues then. Going up there in 1977 and winning 2-1 in the rain was one of my more memorable moments as a City fan. Thank you John Buchanan Ok they’ve done well to go up the leagues but it’s somewhat artificial with their Yankee money.
Hear you Nin and I remember those days too. Remote beat me to it with the reply and I don't think they can accused of buying success. Football aside, I think they're doing wonders for the community too. I hope they continue up the leagues so that the old rivalry can be reinstated.
I get that and half anticipated it but that’s like comparing pears to apples - will they though change their blueprint of buying journeymen to catapult up to the next league or fund a progressive programme with an academy?
Like we've produced teams full of players through our accademy and have never signed any journeymen. It's a bit chicken and eggy. They need to kick start their progress to be able to grow from within. Also, with the programmes they produce and the fan base in the states, they are probably more self funding than we are. Good luck to them.
Judging by the investment on the periphery of the club, I don't think it will be too long before they have an academy up and running. I get the firm impression that there's an informed and progressive long plan.
