I was at that game. George Hope was one of those strikers who ranked alongside Bogle, Pavel Abbott Big Mak etc., but he played well that game, and roundedit off by beating two men, rounding the goalie and slipping the ball into the net. We celebrated with a pint or two of Gale's Ales.
I would love to see a replay of Hope's goal, just to be convinced that it happened; a bit like Abbott's volley I suppose.

I was in the Kippax for this one with my Man City mate.
A 'few' beers before the game then settled down for the game. The geezer next to me got up for drink/leak and very politely said "I don't mind you supporting your team, but don't call us c****!"<laugh> I didn't realise my muttering could be heard!
We then had a swift few after the game then got the National Express overnight coach back, then fresh as a daisy<cool> went straight to work.
Happy days!
