Our gramaphone was win-up and had a trumpet

The wash house I was talking about was at Steble Street

Our first washing machine was a Hotpoint and that had a manual mangle on the top. Before that we had a gas heated copper. But me Nan still insisted on going to the wash house.

We had an Ascot water heater in the kitchenette - bloody thing was lethal!

The lav was in the yard - the next door neighbour died when his fell on his head one night

My old tape deck had a habit of chewing the cassette tapes good and proper, I was an expert at joining the tape with superglue.

No it was a Bush and until stereo became established in the 60s, it was tonally as good as any of its more modern competitiors.

Superglues have been around since 1942 [before my time] but the ones we know today were invented to seal wounds in the Vietnam war.

[it was a bit of a joke]
