yea, if you believe the employment figures you are living in cloud cuckoo land...

you now get one job split into 2 or 3 on zero hours so they can get away without giving any job security or holiday pay / guaranteed hours, the effect is that 3 people go off the figures instead of 1, happy days eh.

That's correct swamp. And its not funny when you hear the government brag their propaganda that you know is not true and even sadder when we don't have a good enough opposition that says very little because they would do the same if they were in power....

This is why the Tories have been bringing in cheap labour from Poland, Romania, Bulgaria, over the years, it fits in with crushing their wage bill. If I was a young man working under such conditions, I would make it my life long ambition to pay 0 tax for my entire working life, after all why should these kids be loyal and honest to such a dishonest system? I can see tax revenue's nose diving in years to come from direct taxation!..................<ok>

I think you'll find that immigration ballooned under Labour, not the Tories.

Sorry, but you are wrong. Under Labour all the restrictions were removed in 2004 partly because we capitulated to the EU instead of standing up the beaurocrats who want a united states of Europe with free movement for everyone. This meant that no longer did we have any real control over our own borders. But the Eu allowed individual countries to place certain restrictions on immigrants and the Labour administration didn't do that.

Even die hard lefties like Jack Straw admits they got it wrong. Instead of the predicted 13,000 immigrants we ended up with over a million.

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/ukn...mistake-on-immigration-admits-Jack-Straw.html

Even a former Blair advisor has admitted it was a deliberate policy to socially engineer the country into being more multicultural and "rub the right's noses in diversity":

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/ukn...K-more-multicultural-says-former-adviser.html

Still think it was the Tories?

Yes i still think that both parties have been poor on boarder controlling. The Tories have still cut the budget this year so they are to blame as they are in government. Its now that counts not yesterdays mistakes. they have a chance to put it right but they cut the budget and laid off staff, Of course it their fault now.

Whether you like the Coalition or not the fact is they are doing what they can to stem the tide of immigration but it's extrememly difficult because Labour signed away our rights to do anything about it 10 years ago. Any wholesale change now would be successfully challenged in Strasbourg. Coming out of the EU would give us that control back.

As for cutbacks, **** happens. The public sector has been grossly overmanned for years and I fail to see how that has any relevance to the number of people coming here.

The second article above actually shocked me. Opening the doors to Eastern Europe without restriction just to "rub the noses of the right in diversity" is disgraceful and we're living with the consequences now, with overstretched schools and hospitals. How can anyone can think about voting Labour after that admission?

DB, labour removed the controls on polish immigration as soon as they could, but we only have a power to delay full access with immigration in the EU, as we did with bulgaria and romania, it was forced upon us that we had to let them in january 2014 of this year.

i'm highly sceptical that blair did such a thing purposely, as with most things labour does in government, they have good intentions, but are grossly incompetent and end up bankrupting our country time after time. blair has shown since he left office that he has twisted morals and is a very shifty character, his latest venture is to lobby for albania to join the EU, seriously.

as dai says, both parties are equally poor at border control, but unlike the tories, labour have no incentive to stop them coming in as most will be low income people who are best served by labour, so will strengthen their chances of getting reelected.

I read something earlier, about jobs if we were to leave the EU. Some claim we would lose out due to trade, but as has been mentioned, the EU would lose more as we buy more than we sell, so surely they would be happy with a trade agreement. They would be silly not too.

You then have this, taken from a UKIP website (so could be biased, I don't know, haven't read the report, but then what group doesn't show biased stats.

EDIT: ok here is the snippet from the report itself
