Kevin Bridges makes me laugh. Little glaswegian gadgie, but dead funny.

There has been some great names mentioned in this thread, but the two who I can't abide are Frankie Boyle ( tries to shock, but is just not funny) and Chubby Brown (I just don't find his crudeness funny).

Stewart Lee is the funniest comedian I've ever seen live. I like Dara O'Briain and Sean Lock but they don't really hold a candle to Stewart Lee

I like Kevin Bridges. Sean Lock is very good. Rhod Gilbert I like. I think Rich Hall is very clever and excellent value. What little I've seen of Micky Flanagan has been decent.

Going back over though, too many to consider. When I was really young, Dave Allen always had me in stitches. Never actually gone back to see if he still strikes a chord now.

Three good choices, agree about Roy (Chubby) Brown relying on crudeness for laughs, not a great family entertainer.

He's not a family friendly comic though so he can get away with that, I'm sure his DVD's won't be a PG rating.

Richard Prior for me is the stand out comedian mentioned thus far - loved his stuff.
As for best comedian seen live has to be Bill Hicks - true genius

Greatest comedy actor of all time is without a doubt Peter Sellers. He is the only person who could make a 2 hour film of themselves falling off sofas and talking in a silly voice consistently funny.

This is quite simply the best comedy scene ever:

See No Evil, Hear No Evil, did you see that one? Prior and Wilder, what a team they made. Great laugh.

The comedian who makes me laugh loudest is good old Bernard manning.

    Just funny as ****.

Some jokes are **** and needlessly racist, but some are bang on.
