OT - What the hell is a malware attack?

Yeah....when the subscription is over, he's installing some all singing, all dancing security on it.

 

scream and run if he mentions its norton, thats worse than any virus!

 

He knows what he's doing mate.........Kaspersky!

 

They had something recently that killed peoples computers, cant remember exactly what but they arent perfect.

 

He does it for a living, so I'll trust him. He uses it which is good enough for me.

 

They are not free so IMO you are wasting money on something that you can get for free and is just as good if not better.

 

Norton really stuff up my computer. It slowed it right down and created all sought of problems.
The moment I got rid of it, all problems gone.

 

Youre lucky you got rid of it, often its nearly impossible to remove completely and can be worse than anything its supposed to detect.

 

Aren't Norton and McAfee just the same checker with a different skin? (Symantec?)

I thought Intel owned McAfee and are Symantec's competitors?

 

I know Norton is Symantec but dont know about McAfee but I know I wouldnt use either if they were free.
