Well I popped out for a quick pint & the bin men still haven't been.
Lazy twats.

Typical Civil Servants Billy, put them to the lash.........................No Billy put them to the lash not go on the lash![]()
Look mate i'm neither to the left or to the right in politics. I'm mature enough to make up my own mind and have been **** upon by countless governments to know that they all are as bad as each other. But the countless mind numblingly boring and uneducated 'blame the tories and the banks' excuse for the woes of the nation only papers over the hideous mess that Labour party keeps leaving the country in.
I seem to remember the letter left by a Labour boffin in Whitehall on his departure after the 2010 elections which basically said that the coffers where empty. Socialist are good at spending other peoples money badly and the other side are good at pampering for the top 1%. problem with NewLiebour is that they pamper to both camps.
Unfortunately, communism doesn't work.. democracy isn't ideal but it is better the Socialist nightmare that Red Ken, Labour and the Unions lot would let us believe is utopia. Trust me mate, i live in Poland and have heard first hand recollections of how great socialism can be.
Oh dear, still no bin men.
Oh dear, still no bin men.
Speaking of percentages to go on strike here is a more interesting fact - its a little frightening I think you will agree
Quorum
A minimum number of politicians must be present when the Houses are sitting to make Parliamentary decisions valid.
This minimum number is known as a quorum.
In the Commons the quorum is 40 Members of Parliament, including the Speaker.
There is no need for a quorum to be present at all times - in fact, Commons debates could theoretically continue even if attendance in the chamber dwindled to just one MP and the Speaker.
But if a division is called and fewer than 40 MPs are present to vote, then a decision on the business being considered is postponed and the House moves on to consider the next item of business.
The quorum in the House of Lords for votes on legislation is 30, but a minimum of three peers, including the Lord Speaker, need to be present for a debate to take place.
So what is being said here is that a law can be passed as long as there are 40 mp's present and 30 for the UNELECTED house of lords
Laws can be passed on a 6% turnout in the Commons, makes me wonder why we be are paying for 650 MP's
Well I got telt yesterday that the bin men won't be around until Thursday.
They will empty the green bin then but not the blue one that they were supposed to empty this week.
Oh well, more rats running around the estate, provides a bit of sport I suppose.
Laws can be passed on a 6% turnout in the Commons, makes me wonder why we be are paying for 650 MP's

Yes I did not know about the quorum stuff and the 6% until Dennis Skinner mentioned it yesterday at the miners gala so thought I would share - amazing thing about that is how the hell did I manage to switch the laptop on when I got in last night!![]()

Dennis Skinner is brilliant - he was saying that he was trying to ask a question at PM question time the other day (they must have to submit the question prior to the session) but they never got to his question which was basically "Has the PM put some time aside in his calendar to visit Coulson in jail"
He was also saying that whenever Cameron is lying his face goes red - so every time Cameron gets up Denis shouts "He's gone red again"
Excellent day out by the way culminating in me learning a new chat up line - (bearing in mind we are all around the 60 mark) went in the Bridge for a "nightcap" or a coup-de-grace is probably more accurate description by then and standing at the bar my mate said to the very young barmaid "you've got hair like a greek goddess" - the look on the lasses face was a picture she just looked at me as if to say "is he f*****g wired up right" - probably had to be there but I am still laughing about it now
