Tom Watson's speech was simply awful. Wouldn't inspire me to get out of bed.
Legend of the game but so obviously past it.

I think Watson's too old NUTS. Delighted for McGinley though. Seems like a very nice chap.

    And he's 'Arry's mate!

Just watched the highlights on the beeb, brilliant performance from Europe and what a shot from Donaldson to finish it off.

The Americans seem to be in meltdown with disagreements between Watson and the players, whereas the Europeans were as one from the Captain down, they all knew the game plan from day one, McGinley should be very proud of what he has achieved....

Americans now turning on each other. Big Phil seems really pis•ed off. Watson seems a little like our Harry. A dinosaur.

Great stuff to watch.......if this doesn't excite you, tell them to nail the lid on you.
    Well done to the Euro's.

Watson's from another era, the game moves on and a captain now has to be a recently retired player who knows the bulk of the team and is 'in tune' with them. It's one of the reasons Sandy Lyle, great player that he was, is never considered, he's now too old.

Darren Clarke is likely to be the next captain and I'd imagine he'll be similar in style to McGinley who would be a shoe-in if he wanted to continue as captain...
