That's it. The first ever concert featuring quadrophonic surround sound. I saw them at Earls Court with the plane on a wire that exploded behind the stage and the sound, by then refined, was amazing. To hear 'Careful with that Axe Eugene' with the screams going all over the place was truly unreal in that era...
I liked Stans King Crimson question, so keeping on that theme, including Mark E Smith how many members have been attributed to playing in The Fall?
Actually I’m really enjoying being 57. With the kids finally out of the house it’s like being early thirties again, but with more money.
That has to be a big number, given that he sacked people on a daily basis. Starter at 68. RIP Smithy.
I turn 50 next summer, but age has never bothered me. Think it'll be a few years before I have an empty house, son has picked his Uni course (although he's two years away from it) and it's 15 minutes on the train
Wow, you are so close! RIP indeed, I shed a tear when the news came through he'd passed away, was truly shocked
Right, you need to put your foot down here. Obviously he needs to go to Uni in Scotland because it’s free for you lot, but he has to go somewhere he has to survive on his own. Aberdeen or Dundee. 65
Neither do the course he wants.....only other option is Edinburgh, but UWS in Paisley specialises in the subject he wants to do. He could go to Glasgow, but that's still commutable (40minutes on the train - 25 miles away). He's on course results-wise already which is half the battle. Think the Mrs is pleased he's decided to stay local....I left home at 16 and it never done me any harm though.....
70 And what is junior to be studying My 18 year old has spent the year catching up on stuff he failed which kept him out of uni this year Or so he tells mrskiwi
He's planning to study Music Technology (wonder where he got the music bug from?)...this includes production, engineering, mixing, lighting etc.....he also plans to add another year on Post Grad to get his teaching qualifications.....he's headed for straight A's in both his Music Performance (Drums and Guitar) and Music Tech for his Highers, and is also doing Music Business at college where he's well ahead of most of his classmates. He needs A's in both of his Music Advanced Highers, which he sits next year, and a B in English or another subject (he's also doing Modern Studies) and he's on course for that too - we're very proud if the hard work he's putting in. The Unis up here are very strict - if they fail exams at first attempt they go right to the bottom of the pile so a real emphasis on getting it right first time. 70 is too high.......
It's funny you should say that. I've seen Pink Floyd several times, but I really wish I'd been old enough to see them at the UFO club. I was just 4 or 5 years too young. Having said that, I saw them play Atom Heart Mother in Hyde Park and Dark Side of the Moon at the Rainbow, so not so bad.
Yes - including Mark E Smith, there were 67 members of The Fall (Stan was so close with his original guess). Some members only lasted a couple of weeks, he was a hard man to please. All yours kiwi
