From what you implied Stan...I would guess that the reason might be Chinese medicine etc...so Rhino horn, tiger and lion balls etc.... I know sub-species of both Rhino (black?) and tigers and lions () have become extinct..am I on right tract. Bears might come under this umbrella too
Right country Beth, wrong reason, and it was an indigenous species......there are still, apparently, quite a few of these animals around, but none in the wild.
...but closer with those animals, if I remember what a quagga is correctly......exact date of extinction in the wild 1865
Our chums at wiki would appear to believe that this is Père David's deer. If Stan's confirms my top notch google skills, can someone please set the next question as I'm out for the evening.
Congratulations Roller and Wiki, correct. The Chinese also thought eating this creature would lead to immortality, so not much surprise they died out. Anyone feel like setting a question?
Sorry too many Crabbies...maybe tomorrow.. Unless you want to guess where the Braw Lads gathering is taking place this Saturday
But will not be back till tomorrow,.................... to tell you it is in Galashields... ooooh dear
Some of you might have heard about a Patriots player being arrested a couple of days ago for murder, but which former NFL player claims to have the highest body count?
And he only served 22 years in total, because he turned States evidence! Spot on, 9's... Over to you.
Thank you Houston. An area of computer memory set aside for the copy/paste function is known as what?
Bloody hell, it's not as easy when you're at work... Ok, work themed question then: the IBU is a measure of how hoppy a beer is. Beers have been made that have ibu's in the thousands, but what is the hoppiest IBU that the human palette can taste? Sorry, it's badly worded, but I've got a few ibu's to kick out here!!
I think the brewing limit is about 80, which would be bitter - the taste buds can detect up to 120 I think. Although I think the record high for a beer is just over 2,000.
Well done Cologne, you interloper! The highest ever brewed was actually 2,500 IBU's - pointless, and it probably tasted bloody horrible! Your turn...
