    Close enough, he is the current Jacobite pretender, though he does not pursue his claim. Interesting chap, his family were staunchly anti-Nazi and he spent time in several concentration camps, including Dachau, as a child during the war.

    No looked it up...Beijing seems right, but London longer than Shanhai....and many lists puts London second...so do not know the second longest Stan

    My source says Shanghai longest followed by Beijing, then London. I think it may vary according to what is included, I was going by a single system eg the Underground excludes Docklands. If you includes all the different lines in a single city I think Tokyo would be up there, but it's made up of dozens of separate lines run by different companies.

    That's the one Nines - because of the change from the Julian to the Gregorian calender England lost 11 days, although Stan was right as well because it was a thursday - Over to you, whoever of you is quicker.
