Only just had time to check some of those Nelver tracks out, good producer. <ok>
His stuff is a little bit too liquid for me at times, I have to be in the mood for really drippy liquid DnB but he does it well.
You know me, I look for more straight DnB for my usual sets. I'm a bit like Goldilocks, not too liquid, not too neurophunk but somewhere in the middle. Not too many vocals but like good samples and vocal stabs.

Fair play, I don't expect you to like everything I post on here. I'm happy hearing tracks that push the sound, try out new things and that's what jungle/DnB has always been about imo. I do agree that over produced beat drum funk like Paradox is not my cup of tea. Some of my fave tracks have a simplicity and most important a good heavy bassline. I lost interest in the liquid dnb stuff a few years back as I found it too lightweight and jazzy.

I have found the last couple of weeks there is also a lot of crap liquid. Nelver is my hero right now and LM1,m Seba, I have been checking out quite a few caliber tracks but find lots of his stuff uninspiring and a bit boring tbh!

Also was never a huge fan of ed rush and optical, was far to dark and almost techno like for me!

Also I just can't stand dubstep music, they really do sound all the same to me, just a horrible pointless noise imo.

Until techstep came about Ed Rush made some fabulous tunes. Haven't liked any of his stuff for years though.
Respect to him still being big in the scene after all these years though. Definitely an innovator of the tech/neuro sound.

Another of my all time favourites that's making it's third or fourth appearance on this thread (both sides being great)

I agree. Can just about listen to dubstep on a video game if the rest of the soundtrack sucks and it suits the gameplay.

DJ Mayhem did some top quality darkcore late 93 to early 95, most of which you will find on Basement records, the label of the record basement here in Reading. You would often see the likes of Bukem, Ratty, Top Buzz, the wax doctor to name a few behind the counter.

Me and my mate used to go into town center every Saturday between 91 to about 95 and just hang there listening to these new and interesting sounds that were coming out:emoticon-0148-yes:

Yeah mate, that '93 rave sound <ok>
This was the style when I first started buying records. Used to go to a place called Red Eye Records in Ipswich and do the same as you, listen to the new tunes from that week. They got to know my style and would recommend me the best stuff. A really strong independent record shop that is still going well today thanks to branching out into mail order/website sales. If you're ever looking for something you should check them out online. They're well into DnB and hip hop.

DnB really came into it's own going into '94.

If you haven't heard of Netsky you should definitely check his stuff out, a leading producer of vocal liquid DnB
