A decent two sessions at last. A win and a draw and we take the ten match series 4 -3 and I win a wheelbarrow of money from my Aussie colleagues.

Storm woke me so I watched from Tea to Close, having already watched the morning session. England bowled very well, restricting the scoring and taking wickets regularly. We just need to bat properly second time up and we should win from here. As Stan points out, that would put us 4-3 up!

I think he spotted Boycott in the stand and tried to land one on him.

This is terrible captaincy by Cook - giving runs away.

Course Cook looks more comfortable now than at any point since 2011.

I won't say any more as he'll probably be out first ball to Harris after lunch

Well, we prepared the pitches and had the advantage of the ball in the summer, looks like we can't cope when things aren't set up for Anderson or Swann (RIP) and our batsmen just haven't got what it takes. The Aussies are still 4 or 5 players short of a really good team, still stuffing us.

What an absolute disgrace. Five wickets for a second-rate spinner on a pitch that wasn't turning.

England have gone. Time to rebuild. Not convinced Cook is the right man to lead. Fantastic batsman, but a really weak leader imo. Swann was never the same after his operation. Root, Carberry and Bairstow probably aren't good enough for test cricket. Andrson seems to have lost his zip and Bresnan is just a back up seamer. The lower order batting has been a complete embarrassment.

Can't be arsed to watch the Aussies gloating over us. Hopefully, by the time they're back over here we will have a side that can be as aggressive as they have been. Not under Cook though I suspect as he's such a powder puff captain.

Early night for me, won't be staying up to watch either Australia 231-2 or Watford beat us 4-0.
