Well clearly not all testers follow the rules to the letter.

I hit a kerb and passed, first time I failed, I thumped over a kerb at a mini-roundabout at about 20 mph, didn't fail for that (observations were my undoing)!

Anyone been banned from driving, and know what the usual length of time is between the driving incident and actually getting sent to court/getting the ban?

Not banned but I've just had my license revoked, 6 points and £260 fine. Did my insurance premium wonders.

What year R32 have you got?

I've an 07 3 door GTI in tornado red with 18" R32 wheels. When I say GTI I really mean it's a 105 tdi with the (genuine) GTI kit <laugh>.

And I've also attended the course. 44mph in a 30 zone. It wasn't as bad as I thought like and the 4 hours went by pretty quickly. You get a break half way through but you have to make sure you involve yourself as much as possible in the discussions etc. or the guy in charge will fail you. I was the boss of my group and did all the talking, also there was a super hot young lady there but she wasn't in my group.

edit: just realised you've already sat the course

You won't fail a driving test for hitting a kerb, unless you're on a turn in the road maneouvre. If you mount the kerb, or bash into it with your front wheel, you're likely to fail, but knocking it with a back wheel you won't.

Like nufc4life suggests, anyone who has happened to switch onto an episode of Night Cops will undoubtedly gain this view of the law... I mean, no wonder you had people (admittedly crackers) supporting Rauol Moat...

*narrators voice* "an argument outside a bar has strted a confrontation which has upset this boy... The boy has become a bit annoyed, as someone else has run off with his girlfriend. Threatening him gentley, the Police tell him if he goes anywhere near that pub again, they'll f-ing chin him... The boy incensed by his treatment, becomes agitated, now the Night Cops have no choice, but to beat this unarmed man to a pulp... Whack whack whack whack.. Another member of the criminal elite dealt with"

"Here a man is ratarsed in the middle of town, a complete non-threat to the socialites around the square, but occasionally throwing in a swearword into his otherwise inoffensive mutterings (he is Scottish), the police have only one solution to this dangerous vulgarism bandit, to beat him to a pulp... Whack whack whack whack... The foes of evil and anti-justice take another blow"

"Meanwhile, in the suburbs a man, beaten to a pulp already by a violent gang, is clearly distressed... There's only one way to deal with this possible armed-robber and it isn't to calm him down, jot a few details and find the cuddly gang of teddy-bears who attacked him... Whack whack whack whack whack... Take that scum!"

"Off duty, one of the night cops is off to visit his gran... Bleeding cow is out of tea and hobnobs... There's only one way to deal with this waster and possible drug-mule, whack whack whack whack whack... Oh, and he's breaking her radiators... Enjoy the winter you slag"

Absolutely ridiculous, can't believe the government doesn't change the stats based arrest system. Who cares if you're arresting more than last year, you still can't catch actual criminals you morons

The government's only experience of the world is through statistics though. It's such a problem.

    If you do:

Only buy with main dealer FSH
Only buy if DSG box oil changed by dealer
    Get insurance quotes first.

If you get one you will love it.

sometimes you get the occasional examiner who is glued to the book, but it's rare. I would never tell a pupil not to worry about hitting the kerb, but i've never had one fail for it yet, and loads do it.
