Appreciate it was 40 years ago and things have changed a hell of a lot now, still an offence punishable by whatever the judge gives IF found guilty. If it was murder would it still be said "but it was 40 years ago"? My main gripe is that when someone is accused of abuse by a third party, they are never named. That is ok while the trial is on going, but when its finished and the accused is found not guilty then why shouldn't the third party be named??
The world has changed so much in the last 40 years, however if an offence comes to light even if thru that dirty old pervert then the accused must go thru the system, if guilty then put the punishment must fit the crime, and not be any less due to fame, fortune or fake illness. My only concern is that when a third party accuses someone of rape they are never named. That's ok while the trial is on-going and the accused found guilty, but I think they are still not named if the accused is not guilty, I sort of feel pity for the accused who has had his name dragged thru the media only to be found not guilty? and the third party walks away with total anonominity.

Good post lad, but strange that most of these crimes happened in the 60' 70's, and now only come to light. Just a query, how many have been accused, and how many have went to jail?
