<laugh> so ironically it's me doing the personal attacks, just unintentionally <laugh>

    Sorry mate <ok>

I take what you're saying mate, with young people getting bad press. In fairness though your doing the same to older generations :) not all subscribe to that.

There is change there, for the worse. Obviously not every young person typifys those changes and I have been presumed a yob before, never been so angry in my life. However, the points they make are right IMO, just because they don't apply to everyone doesn't mean they are not worth adressing.

I don't blame them, I blame the scumy tw*ts causing the problems. Fact is there are increasing numbers (as a percentage, obviuously with population growth it all goes up anyway) of teenage pregnancies, heroin addicts etc.

And for crying out loud! Stop supporting Labour! ;) haha

    Cheers secret - sounds reasonable

The ticket inspector is a bit of a numpty really by stopping the train then announcing that it'll stay stopped till the lad paid when what he should have done was simply let the train continue radio ahead and have the police take him off at the next station were he would have had his details taken and a fine issued.By stating to everyone that the train was going nowhere till he paid just pissed people off and caused this situation imo.

Fair enough. I was going for a more general approach though in fairness, following on from the general idea of points made rather than the incident itself. Unfortunately couldn't see the vid so was forced to debated only the moral aspects of getting personally involved with an incident or dealign with abusibve behaviour in society, trends etc. What person A did to person B on a train is small fry, the responses of people and their views on the morality are what interest me :) <ok>

You make some interesting points here which I agree with wholly. A spiralling populous does create the situation, or certainly exacerbate it at least.

I don't condone any form of vigilantism, I do think people should stand up for what's right though. These things need to be measured reponses, not public hangings. :)

That then, is a very different kettle of fish.

From other comments I had the impression that it was a disturbance of the peace situ, and so someone ejected him, which sounds fair.<OK>

Edit: Finally seen it. Kid was drunk and was mouthing off at the conductor for 5 mins. He had no ticket and couldn't pay for one. They guy who filmed it said (afterwards) that he was going to offer to cover him, until he started sounding off, so filmed him instead.

They guy ejected him fairly peacably, he tried to force his way back on so the guy threw him back. This is reasonable IMO. Get all cocky and try to throw your weight around with someone twice your size (bearing in mind he is in the wrong) is foolish. This should be ssen as a life lesson.

Not sure what all the fuss is about.

People shouldn't have to deal with abusive passengers and there is not really a need for any law inforcement for such a minor thing.

I would likely do similar after a time, for myself yes, but certainly motivated by the good of the other passengers.

As for his father comming out and having a go, you can see why he's such a little twit. If I had done that, especially if it was publicised, I would be in for serious trouble.

If I did that now... well I wouldn't because I couldn't bare the shame and disappointment for my famly, let alone myself. This lad is obviously missing that in his home, which is sad indeed.

I accept what you have said but I think the main issue is being missed by some. The fault for the incident rests with the kid for being a prat and the conductor for being totally incompetent. I've already stated what I think he should have done in an earlier post so I wont repeat it.

Some have concluded that there isn't really a problem because nobody was seriously hurt and the kid probably learnt a bit of a lesson. But the point is it could have turned out very differently for any one of a myriad reasons.

There may not have been a "big lad" capable of evicting him.
The attempted eviction could have gone wrong with the kid packing a knife, resulting in a stabbing.
The big lad may have been a violent thug who stuck the boot in and seriously hurt the kid.

The possibilities with vigilante policing are endless and unpredictable.

The train company will have had procedures and there are Transport Police employed and trained to deal with it. Had the conductor done his job properly there would have not been an incident worth discussing.

This... I hate seeing charity people in town and canvassing homes, acting high and mighty when you don't want to give your card details over to someone random person in the street, and then they get £7-8 an hour...

Would they be doing that for free?

Hate to say it but same with footballers and celebs going to hospitals all just a PR stunt, if they really cared that much give the kids a few grand each to speed up their recovery, the footballers hardly need it!!!

All these sob stories the kid has come up with (forgetting his bag, getting the wrong ticket out of his pocket and only just waking up etc) are clearly a load of ****e in attempt to get sympathy or get the big guy in trouble. I totally agree with what the big guy did, but sadly he could be in trouble for it.
