OT: Scottish Indepenedence

So what happens with Scottish footballers if Scotland gain independence. Will they need international clearence to play for English clubs?

What it will do is end the debate on whether Rangers and Celtic can get into English Leagues, and will probably be the death-nail of Scottish football

Scottish footballers are already subject to the same regulations as those from Wales, Northern Ireland, and any other EU nation - FIFA class them as separate because there isn't a UK team, but separate home nations. It's probably not necessary to get a work permit, but certainly international clearance is needed.

If the do get Independence they wont be part of the EU intially so the will need a work perm9t.

I see Celtic have got a reprieve in the Champions League again after being soundly thrashed twice by the Poles, add that to their reprieve a couple of years ago and most Rangers fans must feel like slitting their throats!...
