I used to go to the baseball every Friday night when i was out in Japan, they had beer for sale at your seat.
I used to quite enjoy it, this was maybe due to the fact i used to get a beer delivered every time a team started a new innings
Maybe this helped my enjoyment, but don't think i ever got a grasp of the scoring system as at the end of the game never really knew who had won...or cared for that matter.

All I can add to this is....

Little Known Baseball Fact:

The "World" series is named as such because when it started it was named after a news publication called "The World". It's literally named after a newspaper that no longer exists, not the actual World.

I'm not a huge baseball fan but like all american sports I kow the rules and have a loose following - I follow the Red Sox solely because they are owned by FSG. This bodes well for Liverpool so GO SOX!!
The story about "The World" newspaper is a myth.It is called the World Series because the winners are regarded as World Champions.

I think most people go to baseball games for the social aspect rather than the actual game.

One of my first jobs over here had a group of people invite me to a baseball game.

Don't think anyone was actually watching the game... it was more just a place to hang out with friends and drink beer on uncomfortable seats.

People seemed more interested in the side events and dwarves shooting free t-shirts into the crowd for the "lucky" few that got hit by the T-shirt gun.
