I see Andre Villas-Boas would like the big clubs to be allowed to play in the lower leagues. I think it should be allowed (indeed it already is).

Chelsea etc could form new clubs (e.g. Chelsea Lions AFC ) which would have to start in the lowest non-league (just like AFC Wimbledon and FC United did).

Andre can then play his youth/reserves under the same rules as eveyone else.

This would mean under the current loan restrictions as all other clubs. This will mean that they lose some players for a season to their B teams (no swapping every week like he would like!).

So Mr Villas-Boas go ahead you greedy man.
 
I cant really form a logical argument as to why but I just think it would cheapen the lower leagues. Also think their younger pros would benefit more - as a player and as a professional - from going elsewhere for loan spells.

Also wonder what would happen if, say Villarreal were relegated. Unlikely of course but I'd assume their B team would also have to be relegated.
 
I'm anti this idea myself. I'm not sure that the big clubs would want to go through the proper process of starting in the Ismithian.

I do think it would cheapen the lower leagues and the idea is an example on the big club mentality (I was being sarcastic in saying it should be allowed).
 
It's good for the top teams, as their youngsters get to play a much better standard of football than they do in reserve games, but it's not so good for the league. The Segunda División has regularly had B teams in the promotion places, they don't get promoted, but it still lowers the positions the promoted teams are placed. Barcelona B, Castilla(Real Madrid B) and Atlético Madrid B have all been in promotion places in recent years, though surprisingly the Real Madrid B team have now been relegated to the Segunda División B league.

It only works in places were the lower leagues are less important, even Barcelona B only had about 4,000 at their last game, I can't see it happening here.
 
I recall Michel Platini saying a year or two ago that England had far too many professional teams, and that four professional leagues was unsustainable in the modern game.

I dont think should happen, instead maybe the top clubs should loan more players out as a group of players to certian teams?
Also dont Man U have a team in Belgium or send alot of players there??
Maybe that is what may happen the top teams will own 2nd teams in other countries!

It might be unsustainable in many European countries but not in England. In fact Germany have recently upped their League structure to a 3rd professional League, with there being talk of maybe a 4th a few years down the line. I do believe that The Championship is the 4th or 5th most attended League in Europe. Platini is just a dickhead, simple as that.

Also, if this did ever happen the attendances for the B team would be pretty low I imagine. Why would people go and support Chelsea B when they can go and support Chlesea A? I just 100% hate this idea and dislike the way football has been going in the past 10 years.

The change from division 1,2 and 3 was one step too far in my opinion! Maybe I'm just getting old, 26 is old right!?!
