Brian - (Who's been trapped halfway up the stairs all night on his stairlift during a power cut) -"You've broke me door, you've broke me door" Jerry - What's that smell? Brian - Never mind that smell, just get me down! or Brian - (to the reporter who he's just given a fortune cookie to at the opening event of the new chinese restaurant within the club) - come on tell us what it says......don't be shy, tell us what it says. Reporter - Piss flaps!
Yep "I was camping up at Pwlhelli, and you''ll never guess who was in the next tent! Robert de Niro! He's rubbish at Swingball..."
I really do, it's f**ing woeful. No, I like it. Bit of an odd comparison if you ask me, they're nothing like each other. Why is it people suddenly think I hate everything? I just hate s**t things. If we're talking comedies I love Spaced, The Office, Brass Eye, Monty Python, Extras and plenty of others.
no surprise the majority of folks on the board like all that ****e is it? couldn't find a decent taste in a sweet shop
Decent list, Bummers, but find the Office unwatchable. Presumably Extras too. I find Gervais unfunny and irritating.
Not having that, 'Del Boy' is f**ing amazing. The other comedies you list are very good though, particularly Brass Eye - which nearly 20 years on, I still can't get over. I liked Phoenix Nights but I'm sick to death of Peter Kay. Ironic really, as he now plays to the crowd he actually was taking the piss out of with Phoenix Nights and those series before that - the working class LCD type comedy. Stewart Lee is class too (refering to an earlier part of the thread).
Didn't mind Phoenix Nights and just want to say that IMO, Stewart Lee is finest comedian this country has by a huge distance. Puts everyone else in the shade with their cock and tit gags.
Only Fools and Horses was genius, and I won't hear a word against it. Stewart Lee is the least funny man in comedy.
