A friend told me about this site and I thought some of you might appreciate it.
It really does give a fascinating insight into old Norwich.

That River End didn't change too much between then and 1971 when my Dad took me to my first match. Blimey, I've trodden those concrete steps some times ! ;)

Yeah I am aware of that site too gandy. There's film on there of an FA Cup tie from the sixties against Sheff Wed with the camera position behind the River End goal !
Frank Bough is commentating, remember him ?

Great picture it's amazing how much the whole area has developed. For some reason I always remember there being some industrial style buildings around by those allotments, I remember the view when queuing for eternity to purchase some playoff tickets.

When I first went to matches back in the 70s both the 'River End' and the old 'South Stand' were built on mounds of earth. Like Kickitoff, I can remember trudging up all those steps (and then we had to stand through the whole match - these young people today, they just don't understand!). :emoticon-0116-evilg

Oh look yet another thread that bangs on about history... <whistle>

Your post was soo predictable Warky, I've been waiting for it <laugh>

While we're 'banging on' about history, re-live a proud Premier League record of your own here:
